So how does trading in games work at Gamestop/EB?
« on: December 27, 2006, 03:03:44 PM »
I'm talking price wise for games, do they just guess its value or will they shortchange you? Do they have a price chart for trading in used games? how does this work?

I plan on trading in
oblivion x360 (played once, new)
Ghost Recon:AW (played once, new)
Jak 3 (played once, new)
Grand Theft Auto 3 (used books kinda frayed)
Metal Arms (crap game, played once)
FFXI x360 (will they take this since I used the trial?)

How much credit do you think I could get?

I might want GRAW
What system is metal arms for?

I dont think they will take the FF
Trade in credit is pretty shitty, unless they have a special going on or the game is Uber new.

you bring in your used games

you pull your dockers down to your ankles

you bend over the counter

they run a mantrain on you dry

you huddle at home in the fetal position and sob while your underwear gets spackled with blood

I plan on trading in
oblivion x360 (played once, new) -- $18-$22
Ghost Recon:AW (played once, new) -- $18-$22
Jak 3 (played once, new) -- $7
Grand Theft Auto 3 (used books kinda frayed) -- $3
Metal Arms (crap game, played once) -- $3
FFXI x360 (will they take this since I used the trial?) -- $0

How much credit do you think I could get?

Yer lookin' at around $50-$60. Go to GameCrazy -- they have MUCH better trade-in prices.

Sont bother trading in games at all. Ebay them and you'll get alot more. Especially those games you "Played once." EB doesnt give a shit that you only "played once" all they care is that it is not new.

Depends on demand -- games that get traded in frequently like Super Mario DS generally get bought for $4-$7, and rarer/newer titles like Canvas Curse and Trauma Center will be purchased for $15-$18.

holy fuck did they try to rape me.

they tried to give me like 53$ for all those games (minus ffxi) plus I added Valkyrie profile 2 and advance wars 2. I was like, uh, "no." and left.

Bloodwake you are correct, I looked on the monitor and saw no game over like 17$ lowest being like 1$

Trade in rarely works out well, but ebay is as much a loss. It just doesnt really pay to make bad purchases you have to trade in later ;)
