I think a significant amount of thunder could have been stolen from Modern Warfare 3 by Battlefield 3. Maybe not to the masses that buy every single COD but to the dudes reading Kotaku, IGN and Rock, Paper, Shotgun.

Which won't change a thing beyond being statistical noise.

Could be true, but at worst those people will try both and we all know how much forum opinion is worth in the real word.
Good for us,either way

They did, and that's so lame. Because now the reveal is on the SAME day as BF3. I hope MW3 crashes and burns. They're probably going to come with some insane bullshots in order to try and triumph BF3.

Very much liked Modern Warfare 2 and that engine so I'm very interested in the SP and hopefully spec ops being brought back since I much prefer that to zombies. Slightly less interested in the MP unless they give certain details to balance since I really like Black Ops and Treyarch's approach to MP.

The rest of the stuff is just noise that is going to consume gamers for the next few months and will be bogus GAF style bullshit. People lining up to stake their allegiance on this or Battlefield instead of people who actually just enjoy games and (gasp) might like both.

I'm not surprised. Just always annoyed/disappointed when so called gamers are less about talking about actual games and more about proxy wars between large corporations.

It's another extension of fanboyism which annoys me. But whatever. Can't stop the tide from rolling in either I suppose.

I'll probably pick it up if multiplayer is as balanced as fun as Black Ops.  I really disliked the single player of it, though.  Modern Warfare 2 had a fun single player campaign, at least some sections of it.  I kinda wish that Eurocom (who made Goldeneye Wii) would work on the single player campaign; Goldeneye Wii had great single player.

I'm guessing it'll be something like The Departed.

Modern Warfare 2 SP was an entertaining, really fucking stupid thing. Doesn't hold up to many playthroughs like, say, Halo or Crysis, but it's amusing in its silliness. Won't buy or rent this one, don't give a shit about Makarov or the A-Team, and I have no interest in another MP game of this type.

Activision is denying the purported Modern Warfare 3 teaser website Findmakarov.com was created by the publisher.

An Activision spokesperson issued this statement to IGN this afternoon. "There seems to be a great deal of speculation about the next Call of Duty project. Let me be clear that we are not revealing yet. Anything indicating otherwise is a hoax."

When asked if Activision is planning to reveal any games on Wednesday morning, the spokesperson said "Nope."

Activision calls hoax, shitty PR stunt by Respawn Entertainment and EA?

I mean, I don't think EA would do it for Battlefield 3 because that would taint the brand.

EA > Actvision. Who can stand Bobby Kotick?

UPDATE, SUNDAY AT NOON PT: An individual who claims to be tied to FindMakarov has emailed me what is purportedly a still frame from the “FindMakarov” production. Call of Duty fans will instantly recognize the character as Simon “Ghost” Riley from Task Force 141 in Modern Warfare 2. Based on this image it seems that FindMakarov is a live-action short film inspired by MW2.

Why the fuck do people keep doing these live action videos based on games? I mean, it's kinda neat but with all the work put into it, why not do something you can call your own?

Because if they do something that's based on a popular product, people might actually watch it.

Which reminds me, I need to go watch those Mortal Kombat videos. I'm starting to get hyped for MK9.
