Castlevania 3DS for me.

This rumor is a couple of weeks old, but I think it is inevitable that Castlevania 3DS is indeed coming.

A FFVI 3DS remake would be excellent, especially if they leave the soundtrack unmolested (no dumbass remixes)

A good 2D Mario would seal the deal the well. Even a good 3D Mario.

I already want one for Paper Mario, OoT, Star Fox, Pilotwings, and Street Fighter IV.

I would REALLY like a new Zelda game though. Something that doesn't use the ST/PH method. A fully 3D analog stick-controlled game.

The price is crazy for what it is, and that's not the issue for me; it's the principle that I'd be supporting a company for putting out shoddy tech for a high price. But I don't really have values, or pride, or anything like that. Shiny toys matter more.

I'm going to buy it for OoT 3DS and I don't think the thing will get a price drop by then, so might as well get it day one and have that great feeling of buyers remorse for a few months. It took a a year or two for me to stop feeling that way about my PS3.

As if it will drop in price, the system is garbage however. But demand will be so high even to next year. Unless the ngp is $300.

Something genuinely interesting, a new Castlevania or a 2D Metroid game that's made by Nintendo not Ninja Theory (or a new nintendo IP

not related to digital sports

). Only DS games I've played are Rocket Slime and Order of Ecclesia so I've got no love for Layton or Phoenix Wright yet which seem to be the only interesting games outside of RE that I know of for the system.

Yah, a steep discount would be the most important issue for me. I absolutely cannot see myself spend 250€ for a gaming-only handheld. Especially if the rumours about Netfront as a browser are true. Home consoles at that price? Sign me up. I refuse to shell out that much for a single-purpose portable machine though, especially given the graphic fidelity and featureset of that thing.

Maybe some Zelda concoction in the spirit of Links Awakening, with the colour palette of Minish Cap and the multiplayer mode of Four swords (because I've never played that one). Also a New Super Mario World or New Yoshis Island would be nice, preferrably in 2D. Which wouldn't make it a "New" title, but whatever.

... or how about something completely new. None of the old franchise rehashes, no Mario, no Link, no Samus, no nostalgia bullshit, nobody from Nintendos existing roster. A completely new game universe. I don't care if it were a SMB2-type reskin, I'd probably buy it out of principle before even considering getting the hardware.

I was one of the few that didn't. I'll want one when Icarus, Pilotwings, and Zelda are out, but I'm holding out until I hear how the NGP will be priced. Despite everyone at 8-4 completely freaking out all over the 3DS all the time, I'm still not sold at all on it. I think it's dated (I'm used to apps and instant gratification, etc.), and I don't even think I'd spend any real time with it, to be honest. My train commute is like 10 minutes max, and when I get home I have a Bravia, a PS3, a 360, and an, uh, Wii to play games on. I think the only handheld game I've spent any real time on in the past 2 years or so is Carcassonne on my iPhone, and that's only because it has asynchronous online play.

I've only ever owned one handheld, the DS. Didn't own one before, won't own one after. Bought it to play NSMB because I was just jonesing for a retro Mario game at the time, and now it's basically a Mario Kart player. In fact, the only game that has been in the thing for about 3 years is Mario Kart.
