Not very capable at all. The NG Sigma series is a casualized downgrade of the real games.

That's why I would rather have them working on Dead or Alive 5 and leave Ninja Gaiden alone for several years.

edit: Although, I was kinda optimistic about this game (as optimistic as I could be with Hayash in charge, anyway) before there were some distinguished mentally-challenged quotes coming out of Team Ninja a few months ago. Not sure if they were posted here though.

The karma system in NGB was excellent. NG2 karma was the most broken piece of shit scoring system ever conceived - solely because the battles lacked a timer. I've only done 1 Master Ninja karma run in NG2 and I will never do another. I'd rather chop my dick off.

But anyway, the combat in NG2 is completely unrivaled. The weapon survival missions prove that NG2 is in a league of its own.

I'm not sure where it was said, but the gist of it was that NG3 will play differently from its predecessors and that they were inspired by God of War.

Game will be shit. Team Ninja is not capable of building a good battle system without Ehara (who left with Itagaki). Proof being all of the women characters in NG Sigma 1 & 2.

So stupid. Ninja Gaiden is about proving how much of a beast you are and that's why it sells. Making it more assessable (read: more like pussy action games like God of War) and character driven is going to make it worse.

Then again, what can you really expect from Hayashi? Dude is a scrub and the Sigma games prove it.

Accessibility is fine - Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden 2 were already extremely accessible. I mean, if you couldn't handle Ninja Dog difficulty or Acolyte, I don't even know what to say.

Of course, what they really mean is that they are going to simplify and "streamline" the game to appeal to as many people as possible. Meaning it will be shit.

Hayashi's just being honest. He knows he can't ever make a Ninja Gaiden comparable to Itagaki's, let alone an action game on the level of Bayonetta, so why bother give people any high expectations? Best to let them down quickly and soon as possible so when Ninja Dog Gaiden 3 is out the bitterness will have settled and people will not complain about him too much.

No, that's how (most) western developers design difficulty. Increase enemy health by 3x, increase enemy damage by 2x, reduce player health by 0.75x, and you've got a whole new difficulty mode! Fuck yeah look at all dat content!

Ninja Gaiden Black, Ninja Gaiden 2, Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, Vanquish, shooting games, etc. all have proper difficulty design. They actually put effort in and adjust spawns by making you deal with higher rank / more difficult / more enemies in general instead of turning them into damage sponges and calling it a day. Some games even have entirely new enemies you'll only see playing on the highest difficulties.

I'm sure NG3 will be dumbed down for the babbies who suck at video games (gotta hit that 5mil GoW demographic), but at least Hayashi understands how to design higher difficulties.
