What is your point? And how does this show that Saints Row is the most juvenile game in gaming? When we talk about juvenile, we are also talking content -- as in, you know, rampant themes and traditions and what the game is telling us -- rather than specific acts. I fail to see how punching someone in the dick should be necessarily labeled juvenile, and being juvenile does not necessarily equal a bad thing, either, because like I said, everything is directly derived from something's content and how it expresses such content.

Magus, the difference is that Saints Row is self-aware. It's going to the "xtreme" but doing that as a parody of a million things in pop culture. Similar to No More Heroes. On the other hand GTA is trying to be serious while being the kid on the elementary school who shouts "vagina" in school assemblies and goes "hehe".

I can't stand GTA's "humor". It's like comedy for the lowest common denominator audience.

Even more reasons why GTAIII and VC's are best 3d games in the series. The art style fit the world it was trying to depict, and a lot of the dialogue picks at itself and how absurd the whole thing was, in those games.

I think after that the writers for GTA decided their shit didn't stink and really started to put their heads directly into their assholes.

Ballad of Gay Tony was kind of self aware, in that the main character thinks every single person around him is an idiot.

And you throw yourself into heavy traffic in order to get insurance money. Oh, and stop a "war" between pirates and ninjas while masquerading as a cop.

It is entirely self aware. That goes a longgggg way. So a store called Phuc Mi Phuc Yue fits the setting. As does knuckling someone in the dick.

Also, everyone knows that Saints Row is juvenile. But what is exactly wrong with juvenile? Juvenile can be fun! But something juvenile that thinks it's something more than that is far worse, which is our point.

So Magus, tell us what exactly is wrong with something being supposedly "juvenile"? If so, you'd probably like more adult mature games, but you don't. So then, what do you want?

You mention gay jokes but I have not seen one gay joke. I haven't seen a dick joke either, outside of the sexual appeal slider. You're talking about a series that lets you make a fat trannsexual with a hankering for bikinis and tubetops. Saints Row's humor is never about dick and gay jokes because it's counter untuitive to the whole "anyone can be anything" mantra of the game's design. GTA, however, is nothing but dick and gay jokes, which is especially prominent in my current GTAIV replay. But then, I'm using rational inquiry and that's too much for a Methodis post.

i just don't like juvenile but that's not the point,the point is that it's kind of a hypocritical thing to do saying "gta is soooo juvenile and stupid" and then say "but i like saints row because it's self aware!"

both games are equaly stupid,in fact at least one of them don't give you a reward for walking around naked like in an episode of jackass

That character creation tool is now free for everyone to download. On XBL it was available as the SR3 "demo."

I ended up using it less than expected, since it wants me to log in to THQ.com each and every time I boot it, as well as disconnecting from the servers for no reason, causing a need to re-login.
