Zelda 2 is difficult and challenging yet is so much fun with awesome music and gameplay.

Zelda 2 is trash.

Which is better, Okami or TP?

TP.

If you think 3d Zelda is slow don't bother with Okami. It goes on and on and on and on and on and never ends. Could use 20 hours of trimming and lacks the dungeon design of TP.

YES.

I thought Zelda was slow until I played Okami.  If I remember right I gave up after about 15-20 hours having completed one official dungeon.

Zelda 2 is difficult and challenging yet is so much fun with awesome music and gameplay.

FUCK YES.

My favourite non-3D Zelda (only played 1, 2, the SNES one and Minish Cap).

Disclaimer:
I haven't played through the entire game. My last save is somewhere in the desert next to a pillar which I think I'm supposed to beam somewhere, but I have zero recollection as to the where and why. No questlog. Can't be arsed to look it up. Also, I'm one of those "2D>3D" nutters, especially when it comes to Zelda.

What I remember:
Way too many U GO THAR NAO corridors at first, then empty and forgettable expanses to be crossed by horse only lest you fancy fighting the same three annoying enemies until your mind crumbles. Jack-all to do except dungeoncrawling, except there's no treasure to really keep you going.

Also a hell of a lot of mandatory minigames. Catch some fish! Stop those goat things! Now herd them around! Shoot those targets! Now those! Good, now do it while on a horse, and now mix it with horse-based combat, and for extra happy fun time now try it on a bridge with entirely boneheaded savepoints (IIRC). Now use the chicken to get to the penis bug. USE IT. Now fly that bird-saur for no reason. FLY IT. Also collect fruit. YES, FRUIT. You get no say in the matter. Glowing bugs and ghosts too. Oh and kill those three Rastafaris in "everything is gray and shit btw you're a wolf" mode with your one-hit-kill-AoE move again and again and again and again and again and again and again. Meh.

At least I remember it that way, doesn't mean it actually was that bad. Still, it stuck with me, so I guess it annoyed me greatly. Not nearly as much as the limited wallet/ruby chest issue though. Damn, that was sucky.

From a visual design standpoint they overshot their target. Windwaker was just that bit too cartoony, while TP tried too hard to look lolmature. Skyward sword looked like a happy middle point, but I somehow completely fell off the hype wagon for that one.

Maybe franchise fatigue has finally kicked in. The underlying formula just hasn't evolved enough for me. The boss battles tend to be enjoyable, but the rest of the game just feels like it was designed with the sole purpose of extracting the maximum amount of playtime from the player, be it fun or not.

Confession time: I actually like Midna. I do, however, and I believe I need to add special emphasis to this, not "like" her in the way apparently the entire internet "likes" her (MY EYES! :o :yuck). Annoying or not, she managed to drag me along for a while based nearly entirely on her personality - until I got tired of the bullshit.

I mean, it's definitely better than e.g. that talking hat-bird thing, or that talking boat thing, or that talking faery thing, ...

I also thought that the wolf mechanic was neat, even despite the fact that they completely messed it up. I'd like to see more of that, only properly designed & playtested this time.

I felt the wolf part was totally unnecessary and added nothing to the gameplay.
