I'm a registered member of my tribe (Ottawa in Miami, OK). I'd actually like to visit someday.

Visiting the Cherokee reservations in Tennessee was depressing actually.  Most of it is quite a shithole  :-\

I used to work on the Muckleshoot Reservation, so I know what it's like. But I'd still like to see it at some point. I get the newsletters and they gave me money for college when I graduated high school.

That's pretty awesome.  My Grandma is registered and I'm a quarter Cherokee so I could, I just never did.  I think I might swing by there next time I'm in Tennessee.

Native American, bitch!  Booyah!  You too, Himu.  Let's stand together, brother.  Cherokee 4 lyfe.

haha, the amount of people with cherokee blood in this country is insurmountable.

I've been to one reservation and it was in the cub scouts it scared the shit out of me.

White people don't want to be reminded that Europeans came here on boats, as well, except theirs was wooden instead of banana.

Is this too long for the news feed?

You act as though there is anyone, anywhere besides yourself that should give a fuck.

Hey, pussy, stop reading my opinions and replying to them if they bother you that much.

Just pointing out opinions are broad on the subject, and I just find it borderline insulting it's only a problem when black people use it; not from you obviously, but in the case of the Boogers of the world

Oh, I know, no worries. Boogers' comments were extremely culturally insensitive. It doesn't bother me when we use the term African American or Latin American, but for some reason when white dudes go on about how they're Italian American or Irish American etc., it makes me laugh as they have probably zero in common with actual Italians or Irish people.

Lots of people on the Island (and of course Jersey - NJ is just LI with more sewage treatment plants and heavy industry) have Italian ancestry (myself included of course), and they LOVE celebrating it... ITALIA soccer jerseys, Italian flags on their cars, etc. Same with the Irish.

+1 for EB NY meetup.
