So who's going to see Battle: Los Angeles this weekend? I'm considering it, on the basis it will have lots of explosions and maybe some dude killing an alien, but I'm not convinced just yet.

Yes. Worse than Avatar. This doesn't have the spectacle factor, set piece action scenes and it has a Michelle Rodriguez

Everytime you think the movie is going to be over, it's not. You want it to be, because it's so fucking boring, but it's not. The action is lame for the most part. There are a few oh snap moments when you see the good guys die. Oh and they rip off ID4 with

Any military cliche you've ever seen is in this movie. A leader with a dodgy past that haunts him? Check. Ya know that scene in every shitty war movie where he says "just go!" "I'm not going to leave you here!" "Do it! That's an order!" *haunting look*? It's there too. I was really excited for this but it is a terrible fucking movie.

Also, if you have a hard time making out what's going on in Transformers then you'll hate this movie. It's a lot of shaky cam and barely visible enemies for the majority of the movie. The only action scenes that competently shot are at the end and one particular scene in the middle involving a bus, grenade and gas station. Oh yeah, another cliche! It's a spoiler so be warned...

survivors taking off on helicopter, everything's happy and then I literally counted down on my fingers and then BAM they shoot it down.

Also, the worst line in the movie is when the Sgt. tells some little kid that's like 10 years old "You're the bravest Marine I've ever met" or some shit like that before he bails out of the helicopter. It was terrible.

Most of their military is made up of drones. There's a main ship thing that is controlling all the drones via AI. It's hidden underground, they find it and blast it with a few missiles and all the drones fall dead.

Dialogue is laughably bad at times, has more cliches than i can count using my ass hair (Nantz was on his way to retirement before all this happened, was waiting for a "too old for this shit"), but the movie was a pretty great ride.
