Robocop is a millenia old lawful golem who is imprisoned by a warlock in Colonial America. Years go by and the warlock manipulates history to become America's richest CEO. An archeologist discovers Robocop on a dig, but finds that his golem form has decomposed. His techy buddy embeds the golem form in a robot: Robocop.

I haven't seen RoboCop 2 in over a decade but while it was certainly entertaining and awesome cause I was (am) a RoboCop freak, it's on a whole different level than the first one.
The whole look and feel of the second one lacked the presence and charm of the original. And I also like the suit in the original better, which was silver and pearly as opposed to the more blue/purple-ish suit in part 2.

That scene in Robocop 2 where Cain annihilates everyone in the factory scared the shit out of me as a kid. My parents wouldn't let me watch it, so one day I snuck it after they went to a dinner party in Detroit. The fucking tape got stuck in the VHS player and I couldn't get it out lmao. I decided to go to bed and hope no one would find it. Needless to say the next day I got in trouble

I saw RoboCop 2 in theaters, RoboCop 1 on vhs. Neither gave me nightmares, but rewatching them is amazing. It's like,"How the fuck did I watch this as a kid and not have nightmares? He just KILLED A KID."

Robocop 2 was good. Well, it wasn't horrible, and it wasn't as good as the original. It was written by Frank Miller! Apparently his experiences on the film were so bad, he refused to deal with Hollywood crap anymore. Part of the deal with Sin City was Rodriguez approaching him with a director position and ensuring him he'd have control, unlike Robocop 2.

Frank Miller also wrote the screenplay for RoboCop 3.
