Places you've eaten at recently

Same as the TV and movie thread, but for restaurants.

Pho Que Huong

Part of a chain of Vietnamese restaurants in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area [and also one in Cambodia and one in Vietnam]. Serves a wide range of noodle and rice dishes, including soups, entrées, and stir-fry. Prices were very reasonable, about $9 per person and the portions are a pretty good size [especially the extra large soups, which are only $1 more than the regular sized soups]. The spices used are quite a bit different from what I normally eat, even at other Asian restaurants, but not in a bad way. Not much in the way of atmosphere, but I can overlook that if the service is good [it was] and the food is good [it was as well]. This was my first time eating real Vietnamese food [outside of the Americanized dishes found at Pei Wei's], and I enjoyed it. Would definitely eat here again sometime when I'm in Dallas again.

Samurai Noodle

One of the few authentic ramen places in Seattle. It doesn't compare to what you can get in Japan, but it's still damn good. They have two locations in Seattle, one in Chinatown and one in the University District. The U-District store is about a mile from my house, so the wife and I walk there quite often. On Friday night I had spicy miso ramen along with an order karaage (Japanese fried chicken), a potato croquette and a couple pints of Sapporo.

Frank's Oyster House and Champagne Parlor

Another restaurant in the U-district. Went there a couple weeks ago for dinner with the wife. Incredible selection of champagne, killer appetizers and quite easily THE BEST fried chicken I have ever eaten.

OMG CG, you give me a food boner with your pics.  :o It's stuff like that that shows me how little culture and variety I have around here.  :'(

NO pics today, but yesterday I ate at Garcia's which is authentic Mexican made by Mexicans. I'll update this post after lunch.

Churrascarias :drool

I need to take pics of some of the food when I go out to eat. Most recently I went to Old Street, a small pub in Smithtown, and Miyako, a Hibachi place in Hicksville.

CG could take pictures of Taco Bell and it'd look delicious.

Subway: If you've never heard of it, it's the world's largest restaurant chain, selling primarily lunch meat/smeat variant subs.  I got a club, but they didn't have any wheat bread.  The cashier said I was cute and she gave me a free broccoli & cheese soup, but it was loaded with stems.  Will eat there again because it is unavoidable.

Angus Brazilian Steak House (Churrascaria)

Barbacoa in Tokyo with their all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink format has spoiled me with churrascaria places.

I'm a fan of Asian cuisines but there's too much weeaboo in here.

Taken last weekend at Grind burger bar, Palm Springs, CA:

The best thing about those places is that it's not like a regular buffet where you usually stop eating because you get sick of the grease.  It's just lots of damn good food.  12 cuts of angus beef and 2 different styles of chicken and 1 of lamb.  yum yum yum.

SERIOUSLY.  Pampas was my first churrascaria experience - totally surpassed my expectations.  I definitely made a mistake by eating lunch that day.
