Four pages in this week's Famitsu. No scans yet, I'll post them when they surface.

This could be awesome. Hopefully it's more than a quick port of old games... but even if that's all it is, I'll take it. Achievements :drool

RE5 move controls weren't nearly as good as RE4 wii controls.  It was the method they used, not the tech, but still.  Aiming would always center the cursor and you would move it from the center by tilting the move controller.  On the wii, the cursor was always on the screen and always relative.

Seems like they're maybe redoing select parts of the old games for some collection? Was really hoping for a new Outbreak game with Dead Space controls.

Edit: So it's RE4 and Code Veronica. Fuck that shit.

sauce?

the graphics in the op link look like shit + the announcement in famitsu means i'm not expecting much

Seriously, unless they redo the assets, this is gonna be as pointless as other shameless RE milkings.  Unlike most of the PS2 remakes, RE4 already ran and looked great on the GC.

If you just want to play it in high res, then there's already a cheap PC version that runs at 60 fps with improved GC assets on even low-end PCs. Fans have even figured out how to make the QTE be specific for the 360 pad.

It would also be easier to spruce up RE:CV then any other game in the series, any of the static background games could be tricky.  Hell, they wouldn't even have to change the camera angles, just import the character models from Darkside chronicles, add a bit more geometry to the stages and call it a day.

If you're looking for any additional details on Resident Evil Revival Selection aside from what we reported earlier in the day, you probably won't find any for the time being.

Our usual source for magazine leaks now has the magazine and has confirmed thatthe PS3 and Xbox 360 multiplatform title does indeed include two classic RE games: Resident Evil Code: Veronica Director's Cut and Resident Evil 4.

Both versions will appear in "HD remastered" form. The magazine apparently shows comparison pics between the two versions. For Resident Evil 4, the magazine confirms that the game will include Ada Wong's The Another Order scenario.

Aside from this, it looks like the magazine doesn't really say much. We're going to have to wait to see if Capcom has any additions planned in terms of Move/Kinect support or additional content.

The magazine lists development progress on the game with a "?" rather than a percentage. Release date and pricing are TBA.

^ finally someone who gets it. There is no such thing as a re-hash (pun sorta intended), provided the product being served is excellent. All manner of young Xbros will finally be exposed to these masterpieces.

It's completely different to OoT on 3DS, which is just a blatant re-heat and cash grab for a shitty outdated title, with an easily exploited fanbase.

I'd be down for some HD RE4 but the last time I touched Code Veronica was when it was first released on the Dreamcast.  I barely remember anything about the game.  I'll probably gamefly that one.

Wait a sec....they're bundled together?  Even better.

Himuro showing his god awful taste yet again. Code veronica >>>> any traditional RE and even RE5.

CV is shit.

Worst back tracking in the series. You have to backtrack between the mansion and the prison at least 10-15 times.
Horrible boss fights.
Long long long long waits in between save points, sometimes up to 40 minutes to an hour.
The knife sucks shit.
Shit graphics, lacks the charm and detail of RE1-3 in favor for crap 3d.
Steve Burnside is the worst RE character of all time.
The beginning of stupid overwrought RE plots and Wesker bullshit.

Before RE5 came out went through RE1-4 and tried to get through CV ps2 and it's the only one I couldn't complete. It is terrible. RE0 is better. The best thing about the game is the amazing cross dressing villain with multiple personality disorder.

RE4 is the best RE, REmake is the best traditional RE, RE5 is the funnest RE.

I'm glad Capcom is finally jumping on this HD re-release bandwagon. So many possibilities.

DMC1 + DMC3 with hard achievements and online leaderboards would be a good way for Capcom to say 'I'm sorry' for the upcoming Ninja Theory monstrosity. :drool

So would an entire Clover collection with God Hand HD, but that probably won't happen.

Killer7 HD would be awesome too, and PN03 HD.  I should really get that dolphin emulator.

truth

you also forgot to mention that you basically play the game twice, the AWFUL voice acting, and the way you can get stuck on a boss midway thru if you don't have enough of the right kind of ammo

on the plus side the last boss is mostly a giant vagina

It's a totally different game with completely different goals.

Gaming is not homogeneous. Because two games are in the same genre doesn't they have to remotely play or control alike. It's like complaining Sonic doesn't feel like Mario; it's fucking stupid.

the goals of both games are the same. they are survival horror with an emphasis on action. resi4 was fine for it's time but that style has been streamlined and improved. it's why RE5 feels so dated.

The controls are fine.

The point of the game is tension. If you could move and shoot, all tension is lost. Enemies can be both fast and slow. The whole point is kill them before they get in your face and shoot cum in your eyes.

With move and shoot, you could easily do this. By making the combat both offensive and defensive with a mix of item conservation, evasion, dodging, and context sensitive melee, you have controls and a gameplay system that strive for a totally different thing than Dead Space's aim.

The fact that people like you are completely unable to understand the intent of the controls is annoying. RE4/5's controls are fine and 1000x more satisfying than any move and shoot controls. Shooting a Ganado in the fucking face, running in, and suplexing that mother fucker is so satisfying. Got damn.
