Ask him if he thinks he's being fair. Include that you never claimed the boxes were "mint" and that he's already claimed ownership by attempting to sell it.

If he says "yes," he's got no conscience but you've got no recourse. Send him US$30 and send it registered mail so you've got proof that the "deal" was concluded.

If he admits that he's not being fair, he would have to drop the claim in good conscience.

I've been lucky enough to only have 1 guy mess with me when I sold PC hardware on Ebay. This dude had buyer's remorse on a videocard because ATI announced a new GPU several days after. He gave some bullshit about how the newer revision had a different fan and that there was dust in the videocard (shocking!). Anyways, I deliberated with him a long time before granting a return, made him pay for insured shipping and made him wait another two weeks after getting the card back. I also ignored his emails most of the time. Guy was pissed but he couldn't do shit since it was more important for him to get a return than for me to sell the card.

How prevalent is kijiji around all you parts? Probably better for common stuff as you buy from local areas. Seems a better alternative than alot of ebays bullshit, though of course you don't get to pick from a worlwide market. Probably better in areas where it's reached critical mass
