The graphics/art look great as usual, but since it's on PSP I'll probably never bother playing it. Will hope for an XBLA version some day.

If the graphics and art are the only thing your games have going for them, why would you release a game on the PSP? I guess it's a step up from the Wii, but really.

I think most Japanese developers can only afford ghetto handheld budgets these days. Dark times. :'(

I didn't even bother to finish Odin's Sphere, the game is wayyyy too long and you just keep doing the same crap, I can't even imagine how awful an rpg made by them would be.

why would a PS3 budget be higher than a psp budget? i mean it's a 2D game with high-res sprites,i don't see how it would cost differently if it was on an HD console

the reason i see it on psp is because nobody gave a fuck when they made a game on the wii,and they don't want to make a game on ps3 because with good chance nobody would care there either

so basicaly psp is the most reasonable choice for the middle-class developer who wants to make something more refined than a DS game, doesn't want to risk his ball on the 3DS and doesn't want to make an home console game where nobody will play it

I didn't even bother to finish Odin's Sphere, the game is wayyyy too long and you just keep doing the same crap, I can't even imagine how awful an rpg made by them would be.

i :heart odin sphere, why must i like all the awfull games :(

Vanillaware? Something tells me, they're not that special.

They make visually stunning 2D games with bland gameplay.

Congratulations, you're right!

Reminds me too much like Valkyrie Profile, which is one of the worst JRPG ever...

The problem with Vanilllaware and rpgs is when you do OMG INCREDIBLY IMPRESSIVE ENVIRONMENTS...you're not going to have anywhere near as many as a normal game so then how do you make a lengthy rpg with those assets?  You repeat and reuse stuff over and over

If they want to do crazy nice 2d visuals, they should stick to a genre that lets them make 3-5 hour games so they don't have to reuse so much.

Will wait this one out until reviewers and forumites I actually put a yota of trust into post their reviews/impressions.

Vanillaware usually focus so much on the dazzling 2D graphics that they have to make way too many concessions in other design areas. Which really is a shame.

The problem with Vanillaware games is that they are BORING. Beautiful, beautiful art, but shallow games.

I still get suckered into playing every one of them on the gorgeous 2-D alone.  :'(

I got about 5 hours into Odin Sphere, 30 mins into Muramasa, 30 mins into Princess Crown, and 5 hours into Grim Grimoire.  Haven't finished a game by them yet!

eh actualy with the exception of princess crown (which i still played a bit on psp and stopped playing because i was sick of using a guide to stumble trough the moon language) i finished them all,i really liked the plot of odin sphere and grim grimoire

maybe i have a high resistance to repetitive gameplay if i find the rest of the game kickass i don't know... ???

apparently this game is gonna have some big multiplayer online mode, maybe it'll be awesome like monster hunter

i wasn't trying to imply something stupid like turn-based side scrolling 2d monster hunter, just i tought it would be nice to have another game were co-operative play is important

everytime there is an online game it's always about punching/shooting/slashing at some other guys,i want to make a team :'(

As a huge Vanillagraphics whore, I'll buy this if I have a PSP when it drops. I ALMOST beat one of the characters from Muramasa one time, but... yeah. Played like an hour of Odin Sphere, always wanted to get back to it but I don't have my PS2 in the honz. I think this could be good, and of course it'll at least be visually hot. From everything I've heard re: Muramasa, the gameplay was solid but the story simply never reached a climax. I think Groo finished it.

Muramasa is just too damn repetitive...I beat it once with Kisuke and have no idea if I will ever play through Momohime's story.  But damn if it didn't look and sound so awesome.

Didn't care for Odin Sphere, liked what I've played of Muramasa, own Grim Grimoire but never played it. Always wanted to get Princess Crown but never got around to it :(

Game looks pretty interesting, lots of Valkyrie Profile vibes... plus I love that awesome 2D.

They do need to change up their character designs, though.  All their medieval games have the same look.
