Roommate needs a new tv desperately.

We're looking into a quick fix. Nothing expensive, particularly in the 150-200 dollar range.

We're looking at 22-24 inch lcd tv's with hdmi ports. Those are easy to come by but we're not sure how good these tvs are.

He has an 28 inch sdtv, which is fried. Will switching to a 22 inch lcdtv with hdmi, he's a gamer btw, make a noticeable difference?

I let him use my ps3 sometimes, and he can't make heads or tails what the fuck they're saying in Dynasty Warriors 7 because the text is so small. Will a 720p 22-24 inch lcd hdtv help him out? He's also a big movie watcher and is thinking of getting a blu ray player with it. Will this tv just make the blu rays look like slightly better dvds or will he REALLY notice a quality difference?

Just wondering because this is a cheap, quick fix. He's saving up for a 50 inch in the mean time and needs a replacement tv because his old one is fried.

ya it will help. If he sits a foot and a half away from the tv.

You can get a 22-24 inch 1080p monitor with hdmi input for that price range btw.

1st reply contained the best info - get a 24" LCD monitor, not a TV. Might make things tricky for watching normal TV (if people still do that) but as a short term solution for gaming it's a great choice.

I may be wrong but if you do end up getting a Monitor instead of a TV you should be able to still watch Cable TV via the Monitor if you get/already own a top box that came with the cable service. The differentiator between a TV and Monitor is the TV Tuner.

Marching part of band sucked but band in MS and HS was definitely the best class. I quit and didn't sign up in Senior year though, because Mr. Caston put me on tuba because apparently my lips were "too big for my trombone". I cherished that trombone. Tuba sucks. So the rest of my junior year I just made random noises and didn't play a lick. At the final concert I didn't play a note.

haha he switched Bobby to tuba too (from fucking trumpet which makes even less sense!). But that's alright, it gave me a chance to learn how to play tuba with bobby's shit. Trombone was the shit. I remember getting first chair for being the only person in class that could play a certain section. I was so proud. I still air play trombone sometimes from the songs I remember.
