seriously loved it.

the best thing about it was that the set pieces felt authentic. a lot were obviously breaking the laws of physics but the special effects never looked fake. that was a problem i had with the last movie. a lot of the big sequences (eg: the final chase in the tunnel) felt fake due to poor special effects. here everything feels real and raw. even the big moment where Vin and Rocky go toe to toe is brutal. it's cool that the director Justin Lin has learned how to frame and shoot an action sequence properly over his last three films. one surprising sequence that i felt was really good was the shoot out in the favelas - won't say any more but it's badass.

from top to bottom i had a lot of fun. i really wish they are able to maintain this quality for the 6th and finish out this "trilogy" on the high note.

i wasn't feeling his character at first but he's gets better as the movie goes on. i would saw he's a little underused but when he's used properly in a few key moments - it's fantastic

Terrible acting all around but a fun movie.  Great pacing and great action set pieces.

I wasn't even aware there had been a Fast 3 and Fast 4. Uh ... *googles*

... wait so the fourth movie was called Fast & Furious? The same as the first one but without the "the"s? These guys should team up with Tetsuya Nomura and start a sequel titling consultancy.

yeah, instead of corny car action (tokyo drift) they have corny gun action, i think we can all agree that this is at least a step in the right direction

I think we can all agree that you're at least predisposed to thinking that.

I kinda like the direction they're taking the franchise. Like, criminal racing would only work forever so why not turn the franchise into a series of Oceans-style flicks with car sequences?

Seriously, that was the vibe I got from this movie...and it worked!   :o  Fast Five was just a good all-around action-flick with a lot of fun scenes to watch.

I happened to run into a friend at the theater who asked if I stayed through the credits sequence.  I didn't, and he filled me in on a bonus scene that happens after the main credits roll.  Copy/Paste from Wikipedia:

In a post-credits scene, Hobbs is given a special file by U.S. Customs agent Monica Fuentes (Eva Mendes) concerning the hijack of a military convoy in Berlin. In the file, Hobbs discovers a recent photo of Leticia Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez), Dom's presumed-deceased girlfriend, revealing she survived the events of Fast & Furious.

Also I guess somebody just hated how Han dies in Tokyo Drift...because every single movie since then has been a "prequel" and he keeps mentioning how he'll get to Tokyo later at some point.   :lol

Just came back from it.  Great movie if you're a fan of the franchise.  It's still full of cheez and bad acting, with sentimental moments shoehorned in at inappropriate times, but the other movies are just like it so no surprises there!

Saw this earlier today. It's worth watching just for the last chase scene alone. I couldn't stop laughing. :lol

Also I guess somebody just hated how Han dies in Tokyo Drift...because every single movie since then has been a "prequel" and he keeps mentioning how he'll get to Tokyo later at some point.   :lol

Justin Lin directed him previously in a film titled Better Luck Tomorrow...in which his characters name was also Han.

My assumption is that Justin Lin and Sung Kang are friends and dude is throwing him a bone.

Better Luck Tomorrow is fantastic. I'm just throwing that out there.
