I used my ignore list for the first time in the gaf Other M thread. Days later, the ignored posters were still replying to me. I had to do it because they went in circles, but ignoring them didn't stop it.

i read through posts quickly, and i get annoyed when i catch myself midway through an idiot like methodis' posts. it gets on my nerves and i'd rather not just not see his posts and scroll past everyone else's responses til the conversation's moved on.

Also sometimes I put people on ignore simply to remember they are playing an "internet character". It's a quick shorthand to see which posts I should take slightly seriously and which I should just ignore so I don't get baited.
