Satellite radio

Does anyone use this?

I have it in a rental I am using and I kind of like it. I am wondering how good the experience is if you just get a unit and plug it into an AUX jack. I'm less interested if I have to get a secondary antenna installed. I can't remember if my car has it preinstalled but I don't think so (it's in the body shop at the moment).

It doesn't look like they give discounts for buying it a year at a time? Seems kind of hard to get into.

It sounds much better when there is a line in vs. RF modulation. It's very nice for long trips. But I don't use it much around town. My wife loves the Grateful Dead channel while I'm more of an Octane/Liquid metal guy. Kids love Disney of course.

$15 a month is the most I'll pay. If they raise it any more I'm bailing.

I would never use an FM tuner. But is it ok to use the AUX jack with a sirius device, or do I have to get a full install with separate antenna for a good listening experience?

I looooooooooooooooooooove satellite radio!

If you get an outside unit, yes you need another antenna.  But it's not a big inconvenience.  It's a magnetic bump that sits on the roof of the car.  It's not really that noticeable.

I have XM built into my car - Although I don't think the radio has been as good since Sirius and XM merged, at least for the kind of music I listen to... it still has some good shit on it. You'll always be able to find something good on the radio, and there's much more genre variety than here and our WBLI/WBAB/Z100/KTU stuff.

I downloaded the free trial on my Droid. It is only $12.99 a month when you do it this way and it works even better than an in-car one. I'm gonna sign up.
