New Alan Wake title

Remedy Entertainment has confirmed to Eurogamer that "yes, more [Alan] Wake is coming!" But the Finnish developer said the new game won't be Alan Wake 2.

"Fans of the franchise will be excited to learn that yes, more Wake is coming! But to be absolutely certain to avoid confusion, this next Wake instalment will not be Alan Wake 2. And neither will it be DLC," Remedy's head of franchise development Oskari Hakkinen told Eurogamer.

"The rest we're saving for our official announcement when we'll actually show you."

Hakkinen revealed that "a slice" of the Remedy team has been working on this new game for "the last months".

"It's something that'll definitely give more to the Wake fans out there, but just as importantly, this instalment will also give an opportunity for players who aren't familiar with the franchise to finally jump on board," he added.

"We can't wait to show you more, bear with us. Release dates, platforms and pricing are unconfirmed as of yet, but Fall 2011 is probably a good guess."

Could the next Alan Wake game be for Kinect?

Hakkinen was responding to a news story yesterday based on an artist's LinkedIn profile mentioning the project Alan Wake 2.

"This has come in a little unexpected as we weren't expecting to be talking about this just yet," shrugged Hakkinen, referring to the leak. "On the flip side, it's great to see that there is interest out there - it really would seem Alan Wake is very close to the hearts of the fans out there, and to ours too.

"It is of course a shame that this news leaked before our official announcements went out which will include the visuals and information to support it."

Hakkinen stopped short of confirming an E3 reveal for the new game, but there are few platforms more prominent to announce a game than at the huge June show.

it wasn't "great", but it was "pretty sweet" imo. And you should probably leave the GAF talk to the GAF thread. I'lll answer anyway - it's the hivemind. A game is either fucking incredible or terrible. No middle ground.

Wonder what the deal is with this new game. It's probably Alan Wake 2, these guys are just trying to be mysterious or something

it wouldve been a amazing game had they bothered to model lipsyncing and if there was more variety in the gameplay and locations.

The start of AW was fucking great. Then it was about as much fun as walking around a dark room bumping into shit while your Mom yells BOO. I'd love a game that was all the day parts of AW

I liked Alan Wake. Had its flaws but I loved the atmosphere and vibe of that game and would welcome another one.

If its for the regular 360. Fuck yeah MS!

If its for the Kinect. Fuck you MS!

I really loved Alan Wake.  The gameplay is certainly repetitive, but compared to Max Payne, it's like twisting your dick inside a kaleidoscope.

Both of the downloadable content episodes were really good.  If this new Alan Wake game follows those, I'll be really excited.

though, Alan Wake Kinect makes sense :-[

I'm actually interested to see how all these real Kinect games turn out at E3.  I'm ready to be convinced that they can pull off neat stuff with the neck.  Or I'm ready to laugh/cry when I see Steel Batallion turned into a waggle workout.

An extremely trusted source has leaked to us that the upcoming Alan Wake: Night Springs will be an Xbox Live Arcade title and not a retail release. We have seen screen caps, but have been asked not to disclose them at this time. We have emailed Microsoft asking for a comment and will update as the situation develops.

We would like to point out that we announced the Gotham City Imposters XBLA game months ago, which was recently confirmed. We cannot confirm details about Alan Wake: Night Springs yet, but we expect an official announcement to come soon.

wtf NOWHERE does it say the game is for Kinect. It's all speculation.

If its a mystery/ point and click style game that would be awesome! Night Springs was the Twilight Zone-esqe show that you could watch snippets on the TV's in Alan Wake.

Having that concept in an XBLA game makes me think of an adventure game but again, it's all just speculation at this point.
