As long as it doesn't interfere with the production of Arkham Asylum-esque Batman games, they can make these all they want. Although, with the Gotham High series [that almost was] just...no.

It's a real shame that there hasn't been a good Batman series since TAS and Beyond.

The Brave and The Bold is pretty good. More comedic but still enjoyable.

I get that, and don't begrudge anyone enjoying it, but I just can't muster any desire to watch it.

Bioshock 2 is a pretty apt comparison. It's probably a bit better than that but it has issues which will stop it from being popular. It controls a bit funky. The lag in my games was noticeable. And the Gotham City thing is the most tacked on premise I've seen in a game in awhile.

The best comparison is Bioshock 2 but this has an air/gliding mechanic to it.

I bought it because I was bored this evening.

Fun game brought down my low-ish frame rate and poor matching making. I like that the game encourages movements by making it so easy. You can really get around. It's also not a technical shooter in that you mostly just run around hip firing. The game is very lenient with its aiming.

Game has a shitload of customizable DLC.

Also interesting that a lot of the cosmetic stuff you can either earn with in game currency or just buy with ms points. It's like a free to play game without being free.

On a serious tip I actually think this game is designed well and plays well compared to brink.

But the lag and matchmaking are similarly problematic although slightly better here.

Has there been a successful shooter on XBLA / PSN yet? I am remembering Section 8 and... Battlefield 1948. And I think only the latter actually sold, right? Both have an "8" in the name.

1943 did extremely well. EA left money on the table by not doing DLC for it. Monday Night Combat sold very well for an XBLA title and was a good game. Section 8: Prejudice is actually a darn good game with a lot of elements executed better than Star Hawk from what I've seen. Not sure how that one sold.

Those are the ones that spring to mind at least being of decent quality.

Stuff like Blacklight and Breach were shit.

Nexuiz comes out next money as part of the spring "House Party". Uses CryEngine and is an arena based shooter. I have a feeling that one will die hard.

The customization aspect is great so you fail on that aspect. The fact that you are wanna be jokers and batmans is gimmicky but it works fine and adds a nice goofy element to the game.

I'm glad that it seems to be working out for you Bob but I often have connection issues. In fact its impossible for me to play with a party and my friend who has it. Even by myself I have issues getting into games sometimes.

It was perfect yesterday, but it's being doofy today. Hard to get games going now. Bleh. Hope they hurry up and patch this shit, cause this game is fantastic when it's working.

So here the deal.

The party matchmaking is broken.
Lag is often bad.
Framerate is often bad.
The gun play isn't anything to write home about.

All that being said I think the game is a hidden gem. There is so much cool shit in the unlocks. Lots of smart design stuff. Wall hack vision which stops camping. There are perks to avoid being detected but you lose some other really good perk. The movement system is one of the most expansive systems I've seen in a game. Roller skate, Glide, pogo stick shoes. I've never played a shooter that made just running around feel so mundane in other games.

Game has fucking bear traps. Freeze guns, Megaphones that boost health. Game is fucking Bananas. Crazy fast paced. It's a shame it was released in such an unfinished state and will probably die in a few months. It deserves better.

Game is even more broken concerning matchmaking after the patch imo. Often games just won't start even when the lobby is full. Lots of lockups after a game. Significantly worse matchmaking now.

For what its worth they said they were having server issues that day I played. I tried it the next day and it was better.
