well, it rules out a PSP emulator and means it's only for a select number of games, which kinda sucks.

edit: there was something about a God of War PSP collection for PS3 a few days ago. maybe that is one thing Sony will announce at E3. I'm glad I held off on Ghost of Sparta now; thanks, Lords of Shadow!

I just think it's hilarious that they're launching a new handheld in 6-12 months and they've just thrown it under the bus by saying "don't worry about buying one, you'll get the best games on PS3 but in HD at some point"

I like to play my PSP games on the go (shitter) so I'd rather wait for the NGP:

- good controls
- sizable DD library from the get go
- no repurchases required

And honestly I never wished to play any PSP game uprezzed on the big screen, so I'll pass.

the problem with the 20 gig ps3 had to do with the wireless connection with the PSP, right? the other caveat with ad-hoc party was a wired ethernet connection because the wireless was connecting to your psp. technically, neither of those should be issues anymore.

It is just a PSP game running at higher resolution. Assets and everything are still PSP quality.

Similar to the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles game released on both DS and Wii. Though, the Wii version could have had other improvements. I didn't play it.

Neither, it's a good idea far as I can see. Who wouldn't want to be able to play their handheld games at a higher res at home, nice and simply, then take the game with them on the go, sure it might impact on handheld sales if it becomes widespread in future, but ultimately if it's going to sell more software and they're still buying one of your consoles it's win win right?

to be fair, the PSP2 will have enough 'unique' inputs that games potentially cannot be directly ported to the PS3. DS and 3DS with the touch screen are (were with the Wii2?) the same; at least I assume that's why they didn't have a DS Player for the Wii or whatever.

It would be nice to buy one game and play it on multiple platforms,but there are at least two big problems

1.Money--no matter what you still have to port your game to two(or more) different platforms,one game price....one game for free
2.Ports--very hated among certain crowd...lazy devs,potential,potential

I could see this working if platforms are very similar,those games pushed by the platform owner($$$) but outside of that...not likely
