Easy Reader on Google Chrome

If you are on Chrome, and you do a lot of website reading, particularly news stuff which is otherwise rife and riddled wif der advertisen, install this with all possible haste.

Apple Safari's "Reader" mode is based on the same OSS Readability project which Chrome's Easy Reader uses. The major difference being EASY READER WORKS EVERYWHERE. You can activate it and then click on any column of your choosing. The text is presented tidily. If you want to read without distracting crapola, have at it!

doesn't do shit for me....I select text and click on the icon as directed and nothing happens. i read most stuff via RSS anyways.

Speaking of which, feedly is my new fave now that it's on ipad (having gone through Newsrack, reeder, Pulse and Flipboard etc...). The pages it designs automagically often look far better than the original websites. SOOO CLEAN.

I tried it that way too, and it didn't work for me either.

Use Easy Reader the other way around. Click on the icon to activate it (it turns blue), then click on any text.

I will check Feedly if there is an iPod Touch version...

i see. Works fine now. There is something called tofu for Mac that is even nicer than this though - gives nice double-columns like a print mag. Very easy on the eyes.

Awesome find!

:bow Everything based on or inspired by the Readability project :bow2

I've set it to a shortcut (Ctrl+windows in my case), and I'm testing with my daily RSS feeds, so far everything is working great.

Great! Glad it's working for you two.

I've downloaded Tofu. I guess the "Services" menu is what will make this work; I'll reboot sometime soon and see how it fares.

I have never been able to get AdBlock to work right on Firefox. May try again with Chrome.

I loves me my FlashBlock, though!
