Can we please at least be comprehensive with our bitching?  Is the interface sloppy?  Slow to load?  Does the front page of the store prominently display current games?  Does a game's individual page have pictures/trailers?

Since I'm waiting for a hack to turn the 3DS into a region-free less-useless machine, I'm not planning on updating and getting this stuff.  Good to know I'm not missing anything!

but seeing lots of complaints - apparently you pay sales tax on the $ value cards in the US and then you get charged sales tax on the purchases you make in the store?! looool fucking hell.

the interface is non-offensive
what is annoying is the variety of annoying error codes  : 007-2500, 007-2503 etc all with different descriptions that happen at various points in the system.

If you get an error at any point in time it dumps you out of the store and tells you to switch your machine off and back on and try again.

I finally got Excite Bike on the JPN machine but it's like "okay - Excite bike" - "so that's excite bike?" - "Definitely going to download this excite bike right?"

and at each point a break in comms = LOL START AGAIN NOOB!!!! LOOOL

Yes, i know all 59 remaining Nintendo fans are trying this out and the server is probably running on a Gamecube but it's still freaking annoying.

I had no problem connecting to the store and getting my shit, got the free games and Mario Land.  I guess I'll grab Zelda too since it's a really good game.  I was pretty impressed with the interface, actually.  Pretty easy to get around with and none of the annoying lag that populates the DSi and Wii stores.

The sales tax thing sucks, I think I'll change my zipcode to a region with no tax.

Make sure you hold select when playing any Virtual Console game. You get a really awesome 3D effect added to them being in the resolution.

How does that shit work?  The manual said something that you have to hold start or select while selecting the icon in the main menu, I did that and nothing happened.  Switching from black/white to black/green is a cute touch, though.  Seems like it would be better to have these options in the VC menu instead of these strange button combinations that can only be found out in the manual (which I would have never checked if I hadn't read elsewhere that these features were available).

Doing the internal reset is nearly impossible with the button layout, I guess they expect you to just use the menu to hard-reset the game.  Also sucks how you can't configure the buttons, I prefer to use a different layout when playing these games.

Bloody stupid that DSiWare won't save to SD card.  I bought Mighty Milky Way and it took up like a 10th of my internal space.

Haha, virtual console indeed!  Still, can't really see myself using the native resolution very often.  It doesn't look bad at all in the default mode.

No sd support? Lol. Wasnt that resolved years ago on the wii?

Are purchases still locked permanently to the hardware?

I downloaded a few trailers yesterday.  I think the shop is as bad as what I used on the Wii or 3DS.  No background downloading, no queuing multiple downloads, they come in packages for some reason, no indicator of download speed/time/etc, and after a download finishes it bumps you back to the home screen (instead of the e3 video page).

That said, trailers reminded me of how neat and how useless 3D is.  Kid Icarus looked great and I dug that aiming reticule is in 3D space; you don't notice this at all in the 2D trailers and it reminds me of Oni.  Zelda uses the 3D really well...kinda surprising.  I might actually play some portions in 3D.  Paper Mario and Resident Evil use 3D well too.  But Mario, Mario Kart and Star Fox are all bad; I could barely notice the effect in those trailers.  Odd since Mario was supposed to take advantage of 3D and it was the least impressive.

Anything made for 3DS is automatically downloaded to and run from the SD card.  Only DSiWare games have to be on the NAND.

You can transfer your licenses to a different console, there's an option for it in the system settings.

And now my only 3DS game(Ridge Racer) is borderline unplayable.
It said it would break Ridge Racer in Notifications. Another system update will fix it before the end of the month. It really sucks that the warning didn't pop up for RR owners.
