I'll take Pikmin 3 over Mario 549 or Zelda 341 at least.

I think a lot of people would, but would Pikmin 3 make you run out and pick up a WiiU?

I was over Pikmin halfway through the first game.  Bring on Zelda 341.

Hell no, but to be fair, there are no first party games that would make me run out and buy any console.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has told GameTrailers that the footage—of games like Ghost Recon and Darksiders II—was instead culled from the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the games.

He says the reason for this is that Nintendo is still "a year away from when the console will launch".

and i don't think they are gonna take advantage of whatever extra power since devs aim for the SKUs to be "equal".

Well, the Darksiders guys says that DSII will look the best for Woo (I'm calling it that).  I have a feeling that the Woo versions of these games will indeed be the best versions graphic-wise, but we'll see what their online service ends up doing for these games.

Also, Skyward Sword looks fuckawesome

edit: I think the real coming out for the system will be Nintendo's event in October, and E3 next year.

The biggest lulz is probably people who said the Wii U demo looked like crap compared to 360 and PS3.

I doubt its gonna be a major jump since they want to keep them equal (maybe more detailed textures or something)

Graphical differences will probably be small, like between some 360 and PS3 games.  Then PS4 and 360 2 will come out and Nintendo will be way behind.  Again. :-\

pretty sure Vita used PS3 game footage when it was first revealed too.  it's just for show because they don't have anything else to show.  some people think the Zelda tech demo is an actual game or indicative of what games will look like.  the only playable games...err, "experiences" are Wii-quality.  there is no good tell of the power yet, but it's crazy to think it won't be better than the 360 and PS3.

supposedly there will be more tomorrow, including a new ass creed for Wiiguu

no upscaling?

This thing is total fail then.

btw, pixel counters are already at work

GPU is from AMD as expected

The controller is nice and clearly has potential. My first thoughts were about Madden, but it could also be pretty damn awesome for RPGs/dungeon crawlers, tactical commands in a FPS, etc.

But of course what's the point if the system is only slightly more powerful than the Wii. That plus the controller costs could doom this thing pretty quickly.

The montage of developers was pretty funny given how they pretty much ignored the Wii for half a decade. Input gimmicks don't=innovation. Until a developer does something cool with this thing, I don't want to hear shit about its "revolutionary" nature.

the system is significantly more powerful than the wii, like an order of magnitude PLUS moreso. the cpu is a souped-up out-of-order version of the xenon with a massive cache, and the gpu is a radeon 4770/4830* to the xenos' pre-radeon 2XXX era gpu. given that it is more powerful than the 360 by a factor of 3-5x (although linear increments in performance mean nothing for results beyond better frame rates at higher resolutions, and cleaner effects), it doubly spanks the fuck out of the gimpo ps3 and its kludgy cell x geforce 7600

*according to word of mouth. to me, the tiny form factor with its limited cooling and power draw screams radeon mobility chipset, like a 4770M/4830M.

The one controller thing makes sense since the console does all the work and the controller is just a display.  A little disappointing, but yeah, makes sense.

And who cares about upscaling?  As if anyone has any Wii games to play on this thing. :teehee

watson's brain IS a power7 cpu, of which the 360's xenon is a (now fairly archaic) ancestor. outside of its massive cache, it's not THAT shit hot relative to other modern cpus (sandy bridge), though, and the wii u (mindtaker!) chip, given nintendo's emphasis on cheapness and low power consumption, won't even approach the server versions of that chip -- it'll be like a celeron dual-core to an i7
