Many religious conservatives are very much in favor of big government spending and are not exactly free-market libertarians. The fact that Bush has made the government larger is a plus for them. If they want bigger government fine, but they should see the folly of lowering taxes while increasing spending. If it wasn't for 'sacred issues' like school prayer, abortion, and gay marriage they would be big Jimmy Carter loving Democrats.
