Keep in mind this is linear, moody, environmental story piece. It's also really old code as it had to get on the Battle: LA Blu-ray months ago.

man, that demo was weak.

-controls are fine
-weapons feels great
-graphics look sub-hd (muddy, blurry)
-the level itself is just boring. the stuff with the goliath torwards the end is nice.
-some framerate issues
-cutscenes look much better (compared to rs2)

cant tell you much more, since all you do is standing on a boat and shoot some enemies.

uncharted 3 beta starts tomorrow if you have the infamous 2 code or are a Playstation Plus member (which you should have access too because of the welcome back stuff)

Only thing I got from JPSN freebies was that PS1 game Depth. Was it meant to be a tech demo back in the day? It's some trippy 90s rave inspired game where you swim around as a dolphin listening to 90s beats, and its got some sort of music creation element with an interactive visualiser! I can imagine it blew some minds all those years ago

From Singaporean PS+ I was gonna try the Soldner X game, go to download and read the details, it's a 30 minute demo and the time it takes to patch the game is included in that 30 minutes

my free month ran out, Medievel don't work no more, niether does all the 'free' minis, nor the 'free' DLC for Magic Orbz. I might reup for a few months so I can save a few bucks on the upcoming summer sale, but I was mostly dissapointed with what PSN plus had to offer.

Anyways. I've poured several hours into Red Johnson's Chronicles, and I really like it.

Its absolutely not for everybody, but if you've ever enjoyed hardcore puzzle solving with a veener of a euro-style graphic adventure, you'll probably love it too.

I mean seriously, it could have been published by Dreamcatcher/The Adventure Company for all its fidelity to its genre, complete with dodgy faux-American dialog. But a lot of the puzzles are pretty damn good. And you spend as much or more time doing those then anything else in the game. So plus points for that.

It's not dumb, it's rude and anti-consumer. The whole media industry pushed for this HDTV upgrade, but have exerted tremendous effort in excluding anything but HDMI from the party. It's one thing to offer continued feature improvements via updates, but this horseshit of taking away existing features cloaked in "upgrades" should he met with class action lawsuits, clubs, and pitchforks.

How else will the industry push people into buying new screens? It's certainly not going to be size/picture quality, gotta make some new gimmicks like 3D and compliant HDMI ports

They are pretty damn similar standards, both use the same blue violet laser to read stuff for instance. There was also a time when no-one knew who was going to come out on top. The tl;dr version of the debate is Blu Ray discs cost more but have a higher capacity. HD-DVD required a less precise laser and had a thicker surface 0.6mm to the data vs 0.1mm to the data, so BD discs need a really expensive durable layer on the top vs HD-DVD which can get away with a simple plastic. MS wasn't necessarily trying to annoy Sony, they just bet on the wrong team, an easy mistake to make at the time.

Methodis is right,name is important.Corrupted movie industry had a biggest role in HD DVD demise,but the name is like the second most important problem.
HD DVD was officially gone when Warner switched to blu-ray.

Hey, Rocket Science, I own a PS3 right now. It's a device in my home right now, not one which I'll buy in the future, it's a device from which Sony are again planning on removing an existing feature.

This isn't Backward-Compatibility being removed from v.2 of the hardware, they're talking about requiring an upgrade to maintain parity with PSN, the Store, multiplayer gaming, but it will intentionally and needlessly remove a feature which I've been enjoying.
