I think I need to think about some things for a while. Until I've thought them through, I won't be around here. Be back soon though.

I found it's better to play it on Vita, but due to the camera being programmed for a d-pad it makes un-natural jumps to zoom in and stuff. A native Monster Hunter for Vita would be nice, even if I don't care for those games. But lol Capcom.

i like the "farming" shit,it kinda makes you feel like you are making preparation for the big one

if anything all the tutorial quests are what needs to go,just make the player punch a great jaggi from the start and be done with it

monster hunter only *clicks* if you play it multiplayer, playing it alone is pointless which is why i'm annoyed the 3DS version doesn't come with online >:(

Yeah, it's starting to get the smell of Elder Scrolls Travels about it, but we'll see.  I don't really think it's an important title for anyone involved, anyway.

That game actually had screenshots and seemed to exist in some form. Bioshock on Vita seems to exist in the same realm as Resident Evil Portable, which is to say it doesn't.

Huh always seemed the most likely for me. Slant Six is a known PSP dev, Capcom announced PSP RE, goes quiet, all of a sudden announces a new PS360 RE by Slant Six coming out in less than a year that plays almost exactly like their PSP game. I mean, seemed kind of straightforward.

But who am I to question someone's sources. ;)

Unless it's a double-super-secret they were keeping from some pretty high up Capcom people, that's not true.  Neither is Andrex's, even though it sounds very plausible.

To me, it's pretty obvious that after the several software flops Capcom had, and the stunning success of Monster Hunter, that Capcom decided to plant their seeds where the best shit was growing.  The state of RE during the PSP's life wasn't exactly what I'd call organized, either.

I thought CVXfreak on gaf confirmed that RE 3DS is what became of RE PSP which was in development all these years.  Unless he was doing that to troll people or something.

Nayuta no Kiseki is sounding real good.  New Falcom action rpg series.  GAF thread has more words: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=470163

Though it would be great if Falcom did native res / "HD" version for Vita.  That's happening with Zero no Kiseki.

IIRC Falcom stated that it was easy for Pyramid (the Patapon people if anyone's wondering) to do Zero no Kiseki on Vita because Falcom does their work in resolutions higher than PSP. If that was the case for Zero, I'd find it hard to believe it would change for future games.

Kinda wish they had taken a bit more time with the Patapon games.  They kinda ran that series into the ground.

iirc Patapon 2 was the series offender; it was a solid game, but felt more of an expansion or what the first game was supposed to be in the first place. I haven't yet played the 3rd, but I've nice things about it. The series is the best Sony franchise on the PSP, afaik. Too bad it took them so many tries to get something right, that by the time it came to be, people around the world stopped giving a shit about the PSP.

A local Best Buy broke street date on Mortal Kombat.  Picked it up and despite the large visual downgrade (missing detail, obvious non-full Vita res, lower texture quality), the game runs at 60fps and plays exactly like the console versions.  All of the game's content is intact, so you get a bunch of single and multiplayer modes, plus a new bonus challenge tower.  Haven't been able to try online since like five people have the game right now, but if it's up to par I'll be "retiring" UMvC3 and BlazBlue.  This is more fun.

Just what the Vita needs right now, another fighting game.   ;)

Portables don't tend to be used for competitive multiplayer, they're more of single player machines so it'd be nice if we started getting some single player games.

Still, it seems like a good port outside the GBA graphics.  I can't believe people are bringing up Tekken on 3DS in comparison.  Tekken looks like a GBA game too!  Tekken on PSP >> 3DS, but then 95% of PSP games have better graphics than the current 3DS library, so that's not surprising.

ostensibly, what most japanese game dev houses perform COULD be called "coding" in that they produce code

what happens to it after that is madness

i received a makefile from one of our japanese partners, and MY GOD IT'S FULL OF STARS

also i'm not sure what the japanese term for "source enlistment" is, but i'm sure it means "public file share on the admin's aging Dell"; likewise, the corresponding phrase for "code integration process" is "show up to work at 2am with a usb drive, drink a LOT of asahi and pray"

that they produce modern* game software at all is a MIRACLE

Made sense in the past...now we have portables that can keep up with the consoles in terms of features.  It's awesome having portable fighters -with online play- on the go.

People are just judging based on screens (protip- Tekken 3D looks worse than its screens!) and not in motion, plus they are ignoring the oodles and oodles of content.

You in particular would like MK for all the single player features it offers, Bebpo.
