You know what, lemme check VLR's Flowchart one last time to determine the reqs for the true ending, just to make sure I'm not pulling anything out of my arse. I'll post some stats too.

Please note, however, that the game is really enjoyable overall. So unlocking everything wasn't technically a torture.

This is much easier -- a flowchart courtesy of GameFaqs. It goes without saying that it spoils the basic structure of the pathways, but it's doesn't show everything or give too much details. View at your own risk...

Phi's ending.
[close]

Has 5 story locks, each lock requiring playing through 1-3 puzzle rooms. To be honest, looking back at it, it may not be as tedious as I first thought (you can jump to any unlocked point at any time), but it definitely takes longer to unlock than 999's.

You literally need to beat every story tree (at least the good ones) in order to unlock the true ending, I think my final save was around 30 hours or so.

You really should play 999 first, the good story twists won't have the impact if you haven't.

So IIRC Compile Heart is a rebirth of Compile, the company behind Puyo-Puyo and tons of fantastic 16 bit shooters (like Blazing Lazers, the Aleste series, Zanac)? Shame that they are now stuck working for Idea Fukt. :-\

It's a rougelike dungeon-crawler. So far they've only released screenshots, no actual gameplay, but it's from the makers of Hyperdimension Neptunia, so you know it's good.

I grabbed the two free PS mobile games yesterday, Samurai Beatdown and Beats Sliders

Samurai Beatdown is just plain dumb. I think it would be easier to play on mute because the music has nothing to do with when you should attack. Beats Sliders seems fine but its a sliding block puzzle game and I must have missed the day in elementary school where they tell you how to figure those out because I've never solved one in under like 10 minutes. I couldn't get past the first puzzle after 15 minutes  :'(

Doesn't matter if they patch it, there's already another exploit. Just shows that Sony should stop bothering since 1) it's PSP emulator and 2) not bothering them. Might as well make dosh on people that want to play Birth By Sleep on a handheld that can't do it due to license issues.

And Jetpack will ALWAYS be free AFAIK. There's no time limit on that.

the latest game has already been patched so unless they have another game ready you will have to wait.

but yea this tug of war is gonna go for a while until all the games with this type of exploiting is blocked or they find another way.

You mean Uno? Yes, that was what 2.05 blocked. Unless you mean the newly found one (posted at the "usual site") that was posted yesterday, in which case: No, unless Sony mysteriously blocked all exploits this patch.

But again: It isn't hurting their bottom line in anything but PSN PSP sales, which really isn't making them money (I don't think) with the overpriced-ness of the PSN store titles. Might as well let people use the exploit since it's only in the PSP sandbox and as soon as they start cracking the non-emulator area, crack that shit down hard and fast with a mandatory PSN update for Playstation Plus users.

IIRC Sony will usually patch the game first (taking it down and the new version that goes up can't do it) , then patch the particular exploit itself after.

Sounds like they found another game to move the exploit to i guess?

Yes, exactly.

And there's rumors/rumblings of a native hack that the person doesn't want to release just yet until he's sure Sony can't fix it. Which means it'll probably never be released unless leaked or the system is dead within the year. heh.

Gaf's Vita community is becoming more like bronies by the day.  They seriously refer to each other as 'vitabros'.

Their wordplay is annoying, but it hasn't eached the level of "everypony"/adding "neigh/pony/whatever" to words like the My Little Pony community, so I wouldn't put them on that level.

But whatever, it isn't harming anyone besides being an annoyance. So whatever.

I could totally see them doing the "I want a PSP for Christmas" site again if they had a smarter ad agency this time around.

Gamefaqs seems to have fun with this

Quote
I'm sure you all have seen this already, but here's an attempt at consolidating the information and starting a thread that benefits everyone.

I'm also sure many of you have already received this email, but I'll briefly explain. This is a promotion by Sony in which you are supposed to refer your friends to buy a PS Vita. Both you and your friend will be awarded with $20 in PSN credit and 1000 Sony Rewards Points. All you have to do is have them use your referral code and input their name, email, serial code, and PSN ID. At this point, I do not believe that the Vita has to be brand new as I was able to do this with my Vita which was purchased on Black Friday.

So let's get this ball rolling:

Go the link below, use any referral code (I've provided mine for starters), and follow the instructions. It's that simple. You should be in for $20 PSN and 1000 Sony Rewards Points when they send the codes out!

http://psvita.amplifinity.com/offer
My referral code: 14036475

Note that if your serial number comes back invalid, it seems that all you have to do is insert an extra 0 or letter at the beginning of your code (right after the two letters). Both 0 and H worked for me.

ALSO NOTE that after 10 referrals, the person who referred you will not receive any more PSN or Sony Rewards Points. So spread the wealth. Leave your own codes and quote the codes you use so we can maximize this for everyone!

Back in the day I was an evangelist for the Dreamcast.  It was pretty fucking embarrassing in hindsight and I don't think I sold a single one.

I don't doubt that there are some Vitards out there who will do this but I hope for the sake of their social lives that they sit this failure of a strategy out.

I can confirm the 0 thing works. I wonder if they'll follow the money and not give me the $40 PSN card I want so I can get DOA5+ free. >:|
