I fucking abhor all JRPGs but I could not stop playing P4. I absolutely loved it and felt guilty for loving it

There is no uguu in it, really

Still playing P4 - I loved P3 because basically nothing particularly good happened to anyone in the entire story - especially if you go through getting all the social links. It's just one shitty ending after the other

The Persona games are pretty much the only JRPGs I've ever been able to stand playing.  Played a lot of P3P but need to play more of P4G.  Got sidetracked by some other titles.

That's a great deal. Do you play non-RPGs? You should check out Hot Shots Golf, WipEout 2048, and Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack.

are you on playstation plus? uncharted, wipeout, and gravity daze are all "free" and pretty much three of the games worth playing.

unless you care about owning the games, it's a good way to check them out.  I think 3 months is the minimum, though.

I'm not too particularly interested in owning Vita games. Does PS+ require a credit card?

I might just use GameFly since they can send you Vita games.

Does that workaround for formatting the card work for earning trophies on them?

iirc the playstation store recently allowed paypal as a payment method.  amazon might sell PSN bucks, too.  they did a long time ago, then stopped, then did again, and I'm not sure right now.

what's the workaround for formatting cards?

I guess my question is - will a game from gamefly let me earn trophies on it? Do Vita games have some form of "online pass"?

I know Vita is pretty much anti-Piracy PSP, so I'm not too familiar on how strict it is.

I honestly can't think of why someone who hates RPGs would only like the Persona series. Unless the dating/simulation mechanics are just that compelling to them that they can put up with the dungeon/combat slog (and yeah it can be a slog, and this is from a hardcore RPG player).

And I do think both P3 and 4 have plenty of :uguu elements.

with games that store saved games on the card, you just have to "format" or delete the data on it before you can earn trophies on your psn name.

There are three free augmented reality games that are cool tech demos even though they're not that fun after a few minutes:
• Cliff Diving
• Fireworks
• Table Football

These should be free too:
• Frobisher Says! - Pretty great mini game collection.
• t@g - free (?) augmented reality graffiti app.
• The Treasures of Montezuma Blitz - a free match three puzzle game.

No trophies in these as far as I remember, but I believe you can get some from the Welcome Park app.

Yep.

Every game installs some data on the vita homescreen and you get the bubble as a result.

For games that save to the cart it will realize that the PSN accounts are not the same and then spits out the message of not being able to achieves trophies for the account.

To get around that just delete the bubble for that game then re-insert the card, it will recreate the bubble but now with your info and you can gain trophies.

Is there any way that I can let a friend play on the Vita but not have him earn any trophies for me?

ESPECIALLY Persona 4 -- if I want to loan it to someone to play (the Vita itself).

So I can "backup" my info on to the PC, then format it and make some dummy account for guests? I understand you can only have one account tied to the card (another distinguished mentally-challenged idea from Sony).

There is some kind of workaround for changing regions without having to format the card. Look it up on GAF.
The Content Manager is handy if you want to backup your saves. Otherwise you can just download the games from the PSN again.

IIRC there was a GAF thread saying they blocked the workaround with a firmware update.

Not sure if it remained though.

This is probably impractical, but if you never take your Vita online and don't register an account to the memory card, you can save any region to the card.

You need a memory card for each account now.  Keep in mind that when you account switch, you have to do a factory reset, so all your icon placements and settings are lost.  You have to watch the intro video too.  Not that big a deal, but just annoying enough that I stick with one account.

why the fuck is resistance demo 3GB? lol.

It's a locked version of the full game.

switching vita accounts also deletes all locally stored trophies.  sync those to the server if you plan on doing it.

I haven't bothered since Sony made the process more complicated.  Too much of a hassle just to try soul sacrifice or w/e.  Don't get why it doesn't support multiple accounts like on the PS3.

http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/11/select-sony-stores-selling-ps-vita-3g-for-200/

Quote
A majority of the Sony stores across the US have dropped the price of the 3G-compatible PlayStation Vita, down to $199.97. The base 3G bundle includes the handheld, an 8GB memory card and a voucher for a free PlayStation Network game – if you sign up for data coverage, that is.

The image above comes from a Century City store in LA. Save for a couple of stores on the East Coast that had closed once we started hitting the phones, we called each and every Sony store location to confirm. An employee at the Denver location surmised this was a permanent price drop due to a discontinuation of the model and said there was no time frame on the sale in his system, which means Sony can end the sale whenever.

The New Jersey and Las Vegas locations also told me the 3G model was being discontinued, while an employee in Seattle said the sale would only last until Sunday.
