I've never played a Persona game before. Shin Megami Tensei IV is my first exposure to the series at all, and I'm nowhere near finished with that! I need to stop wasting money on all this crap!

Throughout the whole game? I've been warned that it starts out dreadfully slow (something like the first several hours is all story). But assuming I survive that, you don't think it picks up? I've heard so much praise for the game. And I was honestly just interested to compare it to SMT.

Basically, Persona 4 is custom-made to hit your weaboo anime-tard gspot so hard that it makes your toes curl. If you're like demi and don't have an weaboo anime-tard gspot, then your enjoyment will be somewhat diminished.

Yes, throughout the whole game. The visual novel parts are good and enjoyable, but the actual Persona gameplay is really lacking, especially after SMT4.

P5 needs a huge overhaul of the dungeons. P1 & 2 are much better. Feel free to buy them off PSN Store.

SMT4 got annoying with the obtuse quest layout and having to navigate the city. Didn't feel like dealing with it.

Here's some actual Vita news about an actual game!

Ys Celceta Limited Edition

Quote
Xseed will release a limited edition version of Ys: Memories of Celceta, Falcom’s action RPG for the PlayStation Vita. Titled the “Silver Anniversary Edition,” this version of the game will come with a bunch of bonus items when it releases alongside the standard version this holiday.

The limited edition of Ys: Memories of Celceta will include a 3-CD collection of music spanning the entire Ys franchise, a cloth map of the lands of Celceta, a compass emblazoned with a logo, and “Adol’s Travel Journal,” which contains strategies and art work for the game.

The standard version of Ys: Memories of Celceta will cost $40, while the limited edition will cost $60. The game is a re-imagining of Ys IV, with changes to the game’s story and more. Xseed have not announced a release date for the RPG yet.

Wipeout is awesome.  As expected.  Why this isn't the best-selling game on the Vita instead of one of the worst is a mystery for the ages.

It baffles me how badly Sony missed the boat on advertising Wipeout - they totally could have ridden the recent popularity wave of EDM in America. Back in the day (when hiphop dominated and hardly anybody listened to EDM), Sony had booths set up at US dance events (I still have a flyer of Tiesto playing the "PlayStation 2 Dual Play tour"). They could've continued this, set up some Vitas running Wipeout at events like Electric Zoo, EDC, and Ultra.

FTFY. If P4G was on the PSP, you'd probably have a point but then I'd probably not own the system outside of wanting Marvel 3 on the Go in that case.

The problem is (for me, anyway) I've never felt totally in control, "smooth like butter" when racing in Wipeout. Double-so on 2048. The airbrakes being hard L/R doesn't help. Wipeout HD had the ability to set the airbrakes to like 100-0% in sensitivity or whatever to where setting them to 10% helped A LOT in not hitting the walls. But the airbrakes still didn't feel "smooth"/in control enough for me.

I can see that being the case for others, double-so that racing games at launch that aren't something like GT or Forza aren't going to put "asses in seats" on the launch of a system and yeah... it wasn't a smart idea to have Liverpool doing something like this instead of another expansion to Wipeout HD.

...Though, looking at how dead HD's community is online it's probably for the best they did this route before killing them, even if the game was rushed and doesn't have Racebox in it. :'(

Not back in 2007-2009. Even the free giveaway from the PSN hack rose from like 0-15 players to like 30-50 players and then nosedived back to 0-15. If there's players playing now, that just shows how too little/too late they were in releasing and shit.

the majority of titles can barely manage to have a peak of 15 players a few months, let alone years after release.

it never took more than a minute or two to fill up games, especially now with crossplay between the vita and ps3 versions.

My vita's screen is busted :'(

The right side developed distortion lines, like maybe the cable connecting to the screen is loose or something.  Checking online it looks like it costs a 2DS to fix it.  Might as well wait until the holidays and get a new one on sale.

I dunno. Anytime I tried searching for games there was no rooms open. You're right that the cross-play functionality kinda brought life to it. But at the expense of killing the "multiplayer campaign" of 2048 that isn't cross-play. So... trade off for one to the other, I guess.

So, I'm digging Persona more than I thought I would, but it's kind of a mixed bag. I like the battle system, and am not disliking the story/art style as much as I feared I might. And I'm also enjoying that this game is not reminding me that I suck by killing me every other battle (once I got to that point). But on the other hand, it is a little story heavy fur my liking, and the game's structure seems a bit repetitive.

All in all, not sure whether to stick with Persona a bit longer, or go back to SMTIV in terms of deciding which MegaTen game I'm going to try and finish first.

I've dropped Persona three times now and the game is simply lacking something to get me hooked. Right now I'm playing Etrian Odyssey IV and it's much more rewarding. Every battle is tense and every time you accomplish anything it feels like a small, but important, victory.

Speaking of which: How about that "TV" version that doesn't even allow touchscreen so it's gonna break LittleBigPlanet (so buy the PS4 version!  :-*) and other titles!

I also can't wait for the promised 720/1080p to blow up the native resolution and not actually output the game at that resolution because it's gonna be obvious that it's a sideways move to not put an HDMI or TV-out port in the handheld proper. :lol

Yes... buuuuuuuuuuut you're cutting off 80% of titles that use front/back-touch in some fashion because it was mandated as a requirement at launch.

Good for later titles that are never gonna be developed on the system "supporting" the system because of this, bad for earlier titles to be played on the system.
