I'm pretty sure servers are regional. I get good download speeds from PSN (~ 5-10 MB/s).

There are settings that would throttle download speed without affecting your browsing capabilities, but if you have searched the internet for suggestions then I guess you have gone through all the common solutions, like changing NAT.

Aren't they using Akamai or something for content delivery? It's probably just a matter of cost and for some reason the speeds for most services are fine here in Sweden.

No idea on server regions.  I just know that the last time I downloaded something large -FFX-2 HD, which is around 3.5 GB too- it was done in under an hour.

yea i got that god of war collection in about a hour and 30 minutes and i doubt my internet speed is near most of you guys.

Finished Ys Celceta... pretty much did everything, need to do another play for platinum. Maybe when I feel like playing it again.

Probably go back to Soul Sacrifice Delta, or Dragon's Crown.

What did you think of Celceta, demi? I liked it a lot but I think I preferred the Dawn of Ys on Turbo Duo.

I enjoyed it. I never played any of the "original" versions of the game. I played on Nightmare, so it was pretty tough. Most bosses at the end just ended up with me chugging Revives.

I have the other PSP Ys games on my Vita as well -- 1&2, Felghana, Seven

I like both Seven and Celcetta, but I kind of find myself going back to the solo-Adol titles simply because they have less complications to them. There's no need to worry about stuff like leveling up your skills, stocking up on items, scavenging for upgrade materials, upgrading equipment, etc. Just explore a bit to get new equipment and challenge bosses head on without depending on healing.

Seven and Celceta are probably two of my least-favourite Ys games, to be honest.  I don't like the party system at all, and I feel like they're too verbose/drag on fairly long.  Celceta does a much better job than Seven when it comes to balancing (Flash Guard is harder to pull off, thankfully) and swapping, though.  I played the older versions of Ys IV years ago and liked them more.

Then again, my favourite games in the series are more along the lines of Origin, Ys III PCE, Felghana, and Ys II, so what I look for in Ys is different from what those two games offer.

NIS America picked up htoL#NiQ:

Quote
In the depths of a labyrinthine ruin, a young girl named Mion rises from a deep sleep. Lost, alone, and with no memory of how she got here or where her parents are, she is greeted by two fireflies—one composed entirely of light, and another who lurks among the shadows. By shifting between a world of light and a world of shadows, these two fireflies must work together to recover Mion’s memories and lead her out of the ruins, where voracious shadow beasts, ancient machines, and treacherous traps lie in wait to bar her path. But what secrets do Mion’s lost memories contain? What is the connection between her, the ruins, and the fireflies lighting her escape? The answers may reveal a deeper darkness—one that must be faced from within...

They're also localizing the FBI watch list game, Criminal Girls: Invite Only. Don't Google that one.

actually, we've missed the last six DQ releases: DQMJ2 Pro, DQX, Rocket Slime 3, DQMr Terry's Wonderland, DQ7r, DQM2r.

but hey, the market dictates what gets released.  nobody bought the dq games, lots of people buy simulated sexual assault of minors.

I think "nobody" buying DQ9 is a bit of a stretch. :comeon

Yeah the remakes bombed, but things picked up when Nintendo got a hold of em.

Don't know whether to blame SE or NoA here. But we got Tomadachi and Pokemon Conquest so I'm gonna blame SE. :yeshrug

The two survivors. And then what - do you kill them? No. You take them, and release them into the US market. Only now, they don't buy JRPGs anymore. Now they will only buy loli sims. You have changed their nature. The two survivors; this is what Square-Enix made us.

i'm not sure this is a great loss... dragon quest monster joker is boring as fuck, DQ10 is a mmo and you can still play the psx version of DQ7... so i guess it's a shame for rocket slime 3?

Nah, going through DQ7 3DS right now and I like it more than the PS1 version in some cases.  I mean, some stuff is cut out or edited (like the opening movie, the introductory dungeon, some NPCs doing certain things are changed, etc), but overall, I think the scene direction is great and the presentation of the story is made more consistent.  Classes also level up faster in this version, and since skills don't transfer, you don't have to level up every single class.  The arranged music is a plus too.  Also seems to be some cool post-game stuff from what people say.  It's a more palatable version of the game if you don't like the PS1 version as much.  It's pretty refreshing in this day and age where character design is the only draw to an RPG lately.

But, y'know, the west doesn't want this game and no one would probably buy it since no one cares.  :yeshrug

SAO is the hot shit now, though.

No one remembers Digimon anymore.  And if they did, it wouldn't be as "sellable" to a segment of Vita fans as whichever female character they love to focus on in whichever arc of SAO they like.

i know english is your second language, magoose, but i'm not sure you're quite understanding the word "molesting".  dq2 msx is guilty of sexualizing a minor with that, but a brief image of a girl in a skin-baring swimsuit is a far cry from:

Got all trophies in Doki Doki Universe. Pretty stupid game. It's like, Scribblenauts, if instead of "drawing" your creations, you basically read a description that someone wants, then guess based off the picture.

Half a gig for this game, so I gladly deleted it afterward.

Well, I mean interesting in regards to using Social Networks (fake) and the like in adventure gaming. Yeah, Catherine did that before with the phone. But not enough games make the concept of "making friends/managing friends" in that direction.

Though to be fair: You could pretty much paraphrase most anything down into something dumb like that with two sentences.

I wanted that NIS Vita visual novel about TV reporters exploring the supernatural. I guess the game didn't allow you to rub any 10,000 year old demons disguised as preteen girls, so it didn't get localized.
