Ultra-Violence

Right now, I'm grinding the stone, working on my LinkedIn, Resume, Cover letters, hitting up recruiters constantly, going to networking get togethers, hoping to find a job.

Its scary as hell but exhilarating at the same time.

Definitely Ultra-Violence at the moment. It's been a pretty shit year, but things definitely could be worse. 2011 also appears to be The Year that Everything Breaks™. On the plus side of that, I've learned how to fix things I never would have otherwise, which is always handy, so I can't complain too much.

Right now, I'm grinding the stone, working on my LinkedIn, Resume, Cover letters, hitting up recruiters constantly, going to networking get togethers, hoping to find a job.

Its scary as hell but exhilarating at the same time.

This fully defines my life right now. On top of that, if I DON'T find a job here by December my ass with be kicked by to America and that will effectively end the 1 year 4 month relationship I am in.

Time to get on the grind HARD. Last week I sent in 5 applications / cover letters and this weekend I am going to two different career forums. :punch

Really hopeful (yet at the same time insanely uncertain) about one prospect, but won't know for sure until August 15. FUCK. At least the stress has me running ~4x/week again.

Nightmare.

The dude who I did a favor for to not go to jail over the porn store citations died of a heart attack yesterday, and today I found out that he hadn't talked to the county attorney on my behalf at all. I can't find a legit job and there are currently 200+ federal agents in my town currently, so my other job has become near-nonexistent and will continue to be for quite awhile. Can't hardly get a legit job due to the porn store citations either. If I can't find a job before my court date, I'm gonna end up taking a contract to go work in the coal mines for two years. 14 hours a day, 6 days a week (with no possibility of vacation AT ALL) for two years. The only light at the end of the tunnel is the possibility of getting my blasting card after the end of the first year in the mines. If you have that card, your minimum pay is 40 dollars an hour, which ain't bad money for anybody (except bebpo, attorney at law).

"I'm too young to die!" - Life is a cakewalk. After 9 years of Nightmare, I reset my difficulty level so I could finish the game without too much frustration. My contract ends on September 30. After that, I'll be starting a new campaign on "Ultra-Violence" -- so there will likely be some piddling around in a demo level on "Nightmare" difficulty for a month.

I dunno, I'm almost tempted to talk to his heir (who is similarly powerful now that his dad is dead) about this.

This whole thing is major league fucked. I both love and hate this town. Twelve months ago, I could've made 2000 dollars on a good month. Now I can't even make enough money to buy fireworks this year.

Almost tempted? what the fuck. Get off your ass, talk to his son, take care of this shit NOW so that by your court date you don't have any questions.

That means I'll probably have to do him a favor, and he's involved in way, waaay crazier shit than his old man was. The favor would probably end up being something much worse than me threatening a pedo organization, which was what the first favor entailed.

Join the French Foreign Legion, as suggested, and then write a book about Kentucky, which sounds less interesting than the FFL will be.

Try proving that I have ever broken the law beyond a reasonable doubt. An internet forum is NOT a court of law. I have never committed a crime.

All a cop would have to do is use the info here to find you, tail you and wait for you to do what you do. He's not going to print out pages from EB and hand it to a judge but he wouldn't even have to.

At one time in my life I was followed by ATF agents for six months. You wanna know what happened, nothing, because I didn't break the law. They even had an agent get a job at the same place where I worked.

I'm done talking about this.

This. I'm not saying a cop is going to use posts as evidence in a court case. But they could easily use them to track you down and wait for you to fuck up.

You keep saying the town is crawling with agents so I'm baffled at these various casual admissions of wrong doing. You're probably going to jail regardless though  :-\

Haven't played Doom, but my life is on some kind of infinite-continues mode since I keep fucking up and, through dumb luck, keep avoiding ever suffering any consequences. I'm sure it'll all come back around someday, though.

Knocking on wood, but things could be looking up! Went to a career forum today and had 3 interviews with a major financial firm followed by a dinner reception (only 9 other students invited). Interview number four is tomorrow: FIGHT.

Also got a response on an application I sent to another financial consulting firm today, and I sent that shit yesterday.  :punch Gonna set up an interview for that as well.

I don't want to get super excited about job opp number one, because I imagine it is insanely competitive. A good experience nonetheless. If I DO get that job though, it's ON.  :pimp
