Man, I hate how RE4 has put a sort of fear into me. I'm trying to give this game another chance and these villagers have me scared shitless because of what they did to me the first time. RE4 is one game that still remains tense even when you replay. Fuck these chainsaw guys.

I played the game till the part where you can shove the girl in a dumpster. I shoved her in the dumpster then traded the game in lol.

Yeah, I thought the village was FUCK AWESOME, but then you got to this castle and it was just boring. Totally ruined the game for me and I traded it in soon after. Never beat it.

I almost bought it again today, but I found a copy of Zelda TP GC so I was like fuk it I can get RE4 from an EB/Gamestop dumpster someday

I figured I'd give the game another chance because I thought the village part was amazing. If the whole game kept that pacing up I'd probably spooge over it like the rest of the fucks at neogaf.

One thing I do not forgive in games is bad pacing, or something that halts progress, or something that just makes the game no fun out of fucking nowhere. It makes the experience sour and my opinion bitter.

That castle made the game feel overly long and drawn out. I weep when I will reach that castle again.

I thought that part was awesome myself, because I hate Ashely and putting her in a goddamn dumpster is the best way to treat her. Also, you fight some awesome enemies in that area.

It's a very good game, but a bad Resident Evil at the same time.

A good game overall because of the graphics, gameplay and sound. Bad Resident Evil because there's too much action, no zombies and no many scares. And I also miss the claustrophobic environments.

In the past RE games you walked through small hallways or other narrow environments. Those situations always gave you the feeling of being trapped and there's no where else to go. The "I'm fucked" feeling. I seriously missed that in Re4. And you just have too many bullets in Re4.

The regenerators in Re4 are brutal though. Scary mofo's.

I only detested it because of the hype people gave it at gaf. I like it more than people think I do. But seriously, that castle part... $:-\$

Are you stupid? The castle is FREAKING AWESOME. You must not have gotten far in there. I can think of like three bossfights in that area that all rocked.

RE4...best game of 2005 by far

As for RE4, I didnt like it cause it wasnt Resident Evil, hell I didnt like REmake because it wasnt in the SPIRIT of the series. Technically excellent doesnt mean its always good. Plus RE4 is a long escort mission

Ashley was taken away and at that point I didn't give a shit. I then sold the game 2 months later after having not played it once since then.

I grew attatched to Ashley and became more afraid for her than for myself. At that point I realized RE4 was a brilliant game. I didn't let her die, not once. And when people would watch me play and tell me to shoot her for fun I would promptly ask them to leave my house.

There are many missions that don't include her though, which keeps the game fresh. And the boss fights...wow. Did you at least get to this:

No. I stopped once Ashley was taken in the castle. I do admit though, the game has amazing boss fights. However. THE CASTLE SUCKED. FUCKIGN ESCORT MISSION.asdfa dsf
