- Controls are a bit wonky but workable. They still have that trademark 3d Sonic sluggishness but it's much smoother this time.
- Game has Genesis-era Sonic like physics. You will be stuck on a loop if you run with enough hustle.
- Demo has the perfect balance between speed and platforming. Sometimes you'll have to use your reflexes to bounce on top of enemies to get to higher places without taking damage from a spike nearby. Real nice flow.
- Real good platforming, slow moments, lots of good breather moments, has an immeasurable amount of detours in old 2d Sonic style and finding them all is a blast.
- Takes Greenhill Zone Act 1 and improves upon it. I'd say it's better than Greenhill Zone Act 1 in terms of level layout.

Overall, I'm excited. :omg Pretty gewd!

The Sonic fanbase, as usual, is divided on this game. I'll try the demo for myself.

Demo is supposed to be really early.  some people on gaf who played it at E3 or that yiff birthday event said some issues were already gone in those builds.  Sega only released it so people could celebrate the birthday of a blue cartoon anthropomorphic animal.

Some people also found code in the demo with the full level and mission list.  All I remember is that Casino Night Zone is in....as DLC.  Also that you're only playing as classic or 'generic' sonic.  The other characters like Amy and Tails are races or something.

Physics are very Genesis-esque. Whoever says otherwise is flat out wrong.

It's hard to tell if it's off because of it's early of just broke.  That Sonic 3D Remix game from a while back is better at this point.

the game runs pretty choppy for the speed, though.  again, could just be that it's early.

Skimming the gaf thread makes this sound kinda bad.  Spindash was altered for the worse apparently, some obnoxious scripting where one wouldn't expect it to be.  The level list sounds genuinely bad and includes crisis city ( sonic 06) and ocean palace (heroes); i.e. three genesis remasters and one sonic cd stage.  I don't think this was the half of sonic team that had anything to do with Colors unfortuneatly.

The best part about Sonic games is that I don't even have to play the demo to know it's not for me.

You go too fast when doing the spin dash and it can sometimes be hard to see things.  Ehhh

there is a rumor that it's going to be on PC.  Retail sites list it and it's in the Steam registry, so maybe you can play 60 fps? that Sonic Kart game released on PC.  But then again, Final Fantasy 7 and 8 are in the steam registry or something.

Hey, you've led everyone to believe you don't care about this franchise anyway.
