Pandora has been sucking lately so I hope this will be a better substitute.

What's changed in Pandora?

Lots more adz and dead air/buffering on our iphones. My wife like to blame the new dock she got me for father's day, but my local songs play without interruption. *shrugs*

Spotify used to be good.

But since they messed around with it it's useless unless your paying.

Isn't Pandora cheap? My sister pays for it, and has -no- ads.

I just don't understand the point of this atleast on the home computer. I guess it's good if i'm too lazy to go pirate something or if I actually bought music, but it's still shit sound quality and missing some big ass songs in almost all musicians repertoires. Plus the fact you can't use it on iPhone without paying is bS

I don't know if it's a boon for Spotify to be compared to piracy as an alternative 'service', or if that's just another egregious entitlement complex perpetrated by internet shut-ins.

Point is, if you're gonna compare every DD service to piracy, then nothing will be as good, will it?

I like it because I can check out an artist's entire discography with just a few clicks. It's easier than piracy for me. I can make playlists and favourites without purchasing anything; it's persistent and accessible.

Exactly - I'm really enjoying Spotify because I can listen to 98% of what I want to, instantly and in high-quality, without having to hop on a torrent site first. Which is not just a convenience thing - it means I can use it at work without getting an IT slapdown (and subsequent firing).

It's legal and it "just works" - that's worth $5-10 / mo to me.

I guess fair enough but you don't have any physical files that transcend to other things, just you're streaming it.

One of the nice features about spotify is that you can add friends and listen to their public playlists. There is also à chrome extensions that lets you play songs in spotify simply by selecting an artist, album or song name. Through spotify you can add several users to modify playlists, great for preparing music for parties.

There are also charts that help you discover new and popular music. You can add your own mp3 files to your playlists. You can sync your playlists with your iPhone, listen to them in offline mode. Great quality, fast, no ads and for an affordable monthly fee.

Much more easier than listening to songs on youtube
