I doubt based Gabe will be crying in his chocolate pillows when Valve gains >10 million new customers via Dota 2 this fall.

Does your reticule no longer change when your shots hit an enemy? I liked that feature from the bad company games

Battlefield was cool back in 2002; if I want an outdated FPS franchise running on fumes, Steam's already got Call of Duty.  :kylielaff

BF3 outdated? lol it is running latest tech for PC atleast.

Now you're bringing an unrelated party into it?

Seek help.

I would be more worried about you who rages over the fact that I like the battlefield games.

Battlefield 3 looks yawn-tastic. Rage is the new sweetness, already got that preordered.

I think you got that backwards. Rage looks like shit for being a new id game. Your god Carmack is overrated these days.

It's new and it's sweet indeed. Don't see what the problem is here.

why are we acting like you can't play both bf3 and rage, or even that they have anything in common beyond the fact that they're both FPS games?

Because it's fun to tweak SantaC's nose, since Rage apparently ran over his dog and raped his mongoose.

there is even less crossover since Rage doesn't have multiplayer* and Battlefield 3 single player doesn't matter

*ok, there is vehicle combat and spec ops co-op multiplayer.  no real person versus person combat though

How so? Rage tech is pretty incredible, I mean look at what they're rendering at locked 60 FPS on PS360! Both games have amazing tech, BF3 though will always have the advantage in that PC is the lead platform. Doesn't mean their tech is 'better' per se. Rage is very much a console focussed game.

No idea, SantaC seems to have some irrational hatred towards Rage and/or id. He's been calling vaporware for the past few years and now that it's actually coming out it "looks terrible".

uh wtf? This is the BF3 thread yet you came here and started the trolling. RAGE doesn't look leap and bounds over anything that is available today. Crysis, Crysis 2 looks better. It is not like when Doom3 came out and looked better than anything on the market. If id wouldn't be going the RAGE game, it would not get the same kind of notice. Does it even look better than Resistance 3?

And yeah id is talented, but it would be hyperbole to say that it looks amazing by todays standards. It is because they chose to develop it for the consoles.

fun to troll you since you're sensitive to Rage.  :teehee

I admit that RAGE looks pretty impressive for being developed solely for consoles, but hardly "amazing" or groundbreaking in 2011.

It's not that hard to follow. I've posted in almost all of the Rage threads on EB and the only person who ever comes in and is negative 100% of time about it is you.
