This looks awesome but I don't like the music at all (as expected). Should I compose and record an alternate soundtrack for it?

Looks good but kind of the same square generic that plagued FFXIII. It's like if Persona was done by the XIII team. Will see how it goes...

i think i understand what bebpo says,when FF7 rolled out we had guys like this

now every character from nomura looks like the same,this is the guy from versus

and this is the main guy from FF13-2

and this is one of the character from type-0

the setting and everything reminds me of Valkyria

game looks fun, but I've been burned by most of Square's big PSP games. Crisis Core sucked. Dissidia games are ok. I'll give Kingdom Hearts BBC another shot, but I wasn't feeling it. haven't played the third birthday so maybe that's fun.

other people seem to love those games, though. I'm the odd one.

Yeah, magus has it right. The school has twelve characters yet they all look like 2 characters (generic jpop-star looking guy, generic movie-star looking female). Oh, sure they throw on some glasses or change the hair style a bit, but everything is so samey. The only interesting characters are the elder characters but a lot of them just seem generic designs as well. Pipe girl has been in like every anime ever,

Then you have all the voice actors being the usual SE crew. Zack is Jack, Cloud is Ninja guy, Xehanort is one of the elder guys, it's kind of lame to re-use all your actors from your other games for 90% of the cast. The only interesting bit is having the guy from every Shaft anime ever + Durararara be the good guy turned antagonist school guy.

That's the other thing, the trailer basically gives away the story and the story is SO GENERIC MELODRAMA. OH NOES MY CHOCOBO RIDING BROTHER WAS KILLED, I MUST BE FILLED WITH HATE AND AVENGE HIM (SASUKEEEEE), no don't do that! Revenge won't bring him back! All we can do is honor the dead and fight with peace! blah blah blah; it's just so generic looking.

And the gameplay doesn't look interesting at all.

I like the airships, but otherwise the design style of this just seems lacking. Seems like a made by committee game to build on the ever popular "school crew" rpg that rose up thanks to Persona 3's success, just with jpop characters.

But at least it has a Bump of Chicken song for the theme. That's one thing going for it.

I don't really care about the character design, I just really like the cross-between-FF6-and-FF8 looking world and pageantry. I also like the whole macro-gameplay setup of the world map and missions and stuff.

The world looks interesting, but I agree about the character designs. I remember when Nomura made unique designs. I used to be a really big fan of his character designs.

Also I dunno that this could've been a reaction to Persona 3's success since the basic concept was in place back when it was first shown in May 2006 before Persona 3 came out

She looks icy in in-game pic. But yeah, if there's one problem I have with this new Shiva it's her human toned skin color. But that looks much better in the shot on right next to her character art.

i don't really care how shiva looks himuro,i wasn't being serious above

that said i do think they made her a little more fanservicey,the FF7 one is bland in a fantasy way but not offensively naked,the FF8 is all monstrous looking with those weird head appendages,the FF9 one is come close but it still has that ice crown and ice earrings so it's not bad

the FF10 one,i love the FF10 one with all the tribal tattoo and the bangs and the iced bit,that one looks really cool (no pun intended)

but the one in the scans,it just looks bland,even more bland than the FF7 one

but as i said i don't really care,it's a small bit about a really bigger game,it would be like complaining that the chocobo aren't feathery enough or something stupid like that

I do think this Shiva is pretty bland. Whore-ish, nawwww. Boring, yes.

Nomura is really disappointing in terms of character designs these days.

I remember back in the 7, 8, and 10 days all of his characters were distinct and changed from game to game in terms of style and aesthetic. 7, 8, and 10's characters all look completely different like they're completely different time periods or worlds.

These days I can't tell any of these type 0 characters apart.

I doubt Nomura is involved with the summon designs for Type-0 - in fact the only ones he ever did were 7 and 8 (and maybe some of 5 and 6), 10, 13 and spinoffs were other designers

amazing, FFXIII was so cheesy, I didn't even remember that one incredibly cheesy detail (that she turns into a motorcycle.) I think I was too busy absolutely hating having to play as Snow. THE HERO THE HERO THE HERO THE HERO THE ~~BABY~~ HERO
