Letting Google's bots in would be nice as this forum's search function is garbage and Google doesn't pick up anything either. Also, this place being an unindexed hole in the wall forum hasn't really prevented the public from seeing any "oh noes my personal life" posts (see: Kosma, Jinfash, that dude who's professor or whoever stalked him on here, etc.)

Actually I've been meaning to ask this too but what is the deal with this site's internal search? The few times I've tried using it seems to take forever or not finish at all. Sometimes it even takes the whole site down for me as well to the point where I have to close it and wait a few minutes before I attempt to go on again. Is that just on my end or is that normal behaviour?

The search is fucked but I think it is because of some settings I dont have (for example, indexing is disabled afaik) - I suggest that when people search, you drill down and search exactly of what you are looking for instead of a catch-all. You can be surprised how useful the search is then.
