dayumm. Megatron definitely deserves it. Pretty damn good guy too. You don't find many amazing WRs who aren't assholes; him and Larry Fitz are the only ones who come to mind who are laid back guys

And we still have cap space to seek some FAs, surprisingly.

Thank you for being a free agent, Mr. Manning. That made it so much easier for the Seahawks to acquire Matt Flynn.

Whispers are that Manning to the 49ers is an all but done deal.  Supposedly Alex Smith was in Miami talking to the Dolphins today. :lol

Gundam- I could see that happening.  If I were Matt Flynn and Miami was no longer a viable option, I would take Seattle over Cleveland any day of the week.

Matty Flynn is pretty good. Granted he diced a pretty horrible Lions secondary, but anyone who can throw for 400yds in an NFL game is solid.

LOL Alex Smith. I thought Manning was going to the Titans. They have a great OL and made it better by getting Hutchinson, plus Manning apparently wanted to stay in the AFC. If he goes to the 49ers and can remain healthy...they have to be a Superbowl favorite. Plus they picked up Mario Manningham today

Seattle DID sign Flynn. 3 years for $26 million ($10 guaranteed).

Alex Smith was also going to be coming to Seattle to meet with Carrol and Schneider, but then we signed Flynn.

He still may end up there, who knows.  If he's serious about maximizing his chances to win though, he'll go to San Francisco.

Obviously, my first choice is for him to go to the Broncos, so I can see Skip Brainless explain how Tebow is better than arguably the best qb ever.

I won't watch ESPN anymore because of Brainless.  Like, any programming.  I'll start watching MNF again later this year and if they ever break away from only broadcasting Yankees/Sawx/Cubs/Dodgers to show a Braves game I guess I'll watch that too.  But aside from the Scott van Pelt show, ESPN has just become a festering pile of dogshit across the board.

The repetitive nature of EPSN's sports new coverage makes it very hard to stand, especially during major stories like this Manning saga, or LeBron's FA period, Brett Favre watches, etc. To make matters worse they try to diversify the stream of repetitive garbage with horrible attempts at contrarian views. IE they'll get some ex-player to take a distinguished mentally-challenged stance on an issue then have a billion analysts debate him.

"LeBron isn't really that good"
"Is Manning hurting the NFL?!?"
"WHAT IF VICK WAS WHITE LOL"

etc

Better than expected.

I do feel bad for Tebow in the sense that he's being fucked in an offseason for the second time in a row. Last season the lockout ruined his chance at training camp prep. Now he'll be traded to a  new team, new system, new offense; at least he'll get to attend training camp, but it won't be the same.

Manning is a big time republican, I didn't know he was a Christian tho

It makes sense he wouldn't go to the 49ers, even though they'd probably win multiple super  bowls. There's no way Harbaugh and Manning would get along, whereas Denver will let Manning run the offense.

So Tebow's like a black Peyton Manning? It actually makes sense with all the Jesus stuff, now he just needs some gold chains and a dog fighting ring, and it would make it officially racist to say that he's a terrible QB.

There's no way Manning is 100% healthy. If Denver under performs the backlash will be very interesting. Even if they go 10-6 and lose their first playoff match, there will be plenty out there arguing the season was worse than last season; Skip is already arguing this, and that Manning should be held to Tebow's 2011/2012 standard lol.

I just don't see Denver winning their division, despite it being shitty; Kansas City should be improved, and the Chargers can take a game off just about anyone. I can see them splitting with every team in the AFC west (Oakland is improving).

8-8 or 9-7, and I don't think Manning will survive the whole season

Oh agreed, if Manning is healthy and gets up to speed with the offense/team, sure they'll be potent eventually.

Tebow is fucked in the sense that he'll no longer be on a team that has to justify taking him in the first round. Fox had to simplify Denver's offense just to deal with Tebow's skill set or lack thereof. What other team is going to do that, especially with a lot of these bad teams that have new coaching staffs? Will any coach want to scrap plans they've been working on for weeks/months just because Tebow is coming to town?

Jacksonville just signed Chad Henne, who isn't a good QB but can be solid with decent pieces around him. Miami has Matt Moore (who had some decent games last season on a shitty team) and David Garrard. So even if Tebow goes there he wouldn't be favored for a starting spot. Fans are going to start a ruckus and demand he start wherever he goes. Nor will he have a good OL, defense, or receiver core to bail him out. So the Tebow myth will basically die over the next couple seasons unless he significantly improves

He'll be started eventually, the problem will be that the situation will be significantly worse for his play style. Denver has a very good OL, and only gave up so many sacks because Tebow moves around in the pocket so stupidly. Imagine him doing that in...Jacksonville, or Miami

I seriously doubt he'll win a starting job in training camp though. He'll get the job after the team takes a few losses

Pretty sure Denvers OL was average at best, and started to look good because Tebow was avoiding sacks, or the option threat neutralized the blitz. If they were any good, Orton probably would have had a lot more success.

Tebow to the Jets is hilarious. He could work as a wildcat/red zone QB. Isn't the Miami coach who started the wildcat craze the Jets OC now?

Take note, NCAA. This is how you deal with shit.

Also good bye to Tebow's career. His shtick won't play well in that locker room, nor will the NY media market put up with another QB more successful off the field than on. He'll start eventually considering Sanchize is Sanchize, and the offense is already used to a scrambling QB...but I don't see this working.

Speaking of Sanchize, I once doubted things...but I'm so glad we got Matt Stafford instead. It was a rough start due to the injuries, but Stafford looked like an elite QB last year (admittedly Megatron played a big role in that)

A WILD TEBOW APPEARS!

Seems like there might be language in Tebow's contract that might cause the trade to be voided according to Adam Schefter.  Talk is now that the Rams might actually end up with him.

If the Jets trade does fall through, I guess we can finally say that Tebow was aborted!

Tebow is apparently owed $5 million as part of a salary advance in his contract. Denver doesn't want to pay it, and New York says they have to.
