BlueTsunami, can I jump on the Giants bandwagon? I've been waiting for someone to beat my most disliked teams, either the 49ers or the Packers. The Saints couldn't get it done, so here I am :rock

I accept you into the fold!  :pimp

This team! I'm refraining from calling anything though even believing that this seems like the 2007 run. Each game should be attacked without any pretenses as to what it could and couldn't be. I think the 49ers are going to be very tough, tougher than Green Bay when they're at their optimal level. Can't wait to watch it though.

No, bay area loves the Niners. East bay is pretty Raiders heavy, but western Bay, North Bay and South Bay/San Jose is Niners dominated.

OMG that niner game. I was so emotionally spent by the end I went to bed shortly after the game. 5 turnovers and still almost lose is unsettling.

I wonder which potential SB match is dreaded the most by the NFL/Goddell? Ravens v Niners most likely. Could be an ugly, but obviously good, game

Grats Giants. Tough loss for the Niners/Etiolet. Great season. I'm a hater but you guys played hard from start to finish

Niners choking this away but the NFL overtime rules are still dumb as all hell

The NCAA's OT rules are so much better. I doubt the NFL will change it though, given the potential harm it could do to tv schedules. Hell Fox has to be pissed about this OT game tonight given it heavily delayed American Idol's premier; imagine how much more pissed they'd be if that field goal didn't end the game.

Yea, dude has no problem getting his team multiple stupid penalties; he acts like a Detroit Lion!. Mike Singletary didn't put up with that shit, I wonder what Harbargh's stance is. The players seem to really like Harbaugh so I'm guessing he's not nearly as disciplinary

Harbaugh seems to have a very close and familiar relationship with the players.  At this point, Davis shouldn't need a Daddy. He should be a team leader.

How can the NFL change the game so it means something?

On one hand, you'd have to be a pretty hardcore NFL fan to actually want to watch the pro bowl. On the other hand, anyone that watches the pro bowl should have their NFL fandom revoked.

But would that be enough for teams in the Super Bowl to let their players participate..? I doubt it.

Cash prizes/cars seems like a better incentive, maybe some charity stuff too

They should offer every player on the winning squad NFL Player Conduct Offsets, where you get to use them to get out of trouble with the league.  Put a vicious hit on a qb and give him a concussion?  No problem, spend your offsets!  Did you totally rape a chick (again!) and now it's looking like you're gonna get suspended?  Spend them offsets, baby!

A positive article on positive punishment

http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/7518409/bill-belichick-everybody-critic-film-sessions

Quote
"They were right," Ihedigbo later confirmed. "Bill ran that play for weeks. He kept bringing it up: 'Now see, this is where Ihedigbo got caught deep.'

"After a while, it became more generic. It was, 'Hey, we might see a double reverse this week like we did against Washington.' And there I am, up on the screen, in the wrong place all over again."

Quote
For a split second, Gostowski actually thought he might escape the humiliating film sessions, since his mistake occurred during the season finale.

Ah, no.

"Bill teed it up the first week the following season," Gostowski said. "He reminded me of that kick almost every day

Quote
Weaver juked past Bruschi, then burned him for a 14-yard touchdown thrown by Jay Fiedler seven seconds before halftime. The Patriots went on to lose 30-10.

"I knew I was going to hear about it," Bruschi said, "but Bill was still showing that play five years later. By then it was no longer, 'Look at what Bruschi did.' It was, 'Here's an example of bad situational football.' By 2007 I was saying to him, 'Hey Bill, do you think we can find another example?"'

Bruschi admitted the repeated humiliation was, at times, infuriating.

"But I've got to tell you, it works," he said.

Quote
"He never compliments you," linebacker Rob Ninkovich said. "He'll throw you a little something once in a while, but it's never, 'Good job.'

Quote
Vrabel checked in as an eligible receiver, then turned and hauled in the touchdown pass from Brady.

Upon further review, the coach was peeved by the result. Belichick pieced together a montage of Vrabel's offensive forays, then highlighted the lowlights of his attempts to block in his role as a tight end.

"No wonder we throw to you," the Belistrator cackled when the lights came up. "Nobody in their right mind would run behind a block like that."

etc.
