Newton had a pretty good game given the circumstances. I'm very impressed. Just saw the highlights of his TD and two-point conversion. A lot of people hated on him all through the off season, due to his past with his dad/Florida/Auburn, and his "fake" personality; not to mention the media's attempts to paint him as some arrogant ass. He kept his head down and worked all summer, and it's showing.

The Detroit Lions are 3-0. I'm not expecting a win against Dallas next week, but it should be a competitive game.

Still, today's game was troubling due to our o-line shitting the bed and the running game continuing to be non-existent. Mix those together and you make your QB pass a lot, opening you up to injuries. Jahvid Best is certainly a talented player, but he's not an every down back and can't get consistent yardage on the ground. We need a better o-line to help him out..

Alex Smith did absolutely nothing with the Niners offense for 3 quarters. ate five sacks and threw zero touchdowns. Ratings wise, he still ended up with the best QB play in the division and the first out-of-division road win for the NFC West, and, as well, the first road win for the NFC West.

The NFC West is so bad that the Niners really didn't have a chance at Luck. I thought the Seahawks were the kings of horrible this year, but Arizona just lost to them, so the division may even screw up Seattle's chance at Luck.

I went into the Giants/Eagles games very apprehensive and came out hopeful. The Giants played awful against the Rams but showed none of that bumbling Offense with the Eagles. They showed moments of greatness in regards to defense with the Rams and fantastic most of the Eagles game. That Red Zone D is really, really good, especially at the goal line. Pass rush is nearly as good as it was in 08. Fucking QB killa's.

With that said, LeSean McCoy is one scary motherfucker. Barry Sanders'esque. Too bad he'll be getting handoffs from Kafka.

Arizona is pretty shitty but that was a fluke win yesterday for the Seahawks. Kind of pissed me off that the Cards couldn't fucking close the deal even though they were given multiple chances in the end. I still fimly believe my Hawks are the worst in the NFL as long as TJack is the QB.

Now all I need is KC and Indy to win a few games. If we lose out on Luck by one or two games I'll fucking shoot myself.

niners can't pass, can't run. Every game is going to be ugly and if a team gets up by 10 then forget it. They can blow a lead, but they can't come back from being down.

Luck looks legit to me. He plays a pro system. He makes the throws. He knows how to use his Tight Ends, which is like the money connection for NFL QBs. He can run a bit, and he can throw while on the run. There's a lot of mobile QBs, but they can't always throw on the run well. Luck does. He doesn't have amazing arm strength, but he has enough arm strength.

I think its a mixture of his QB style and the Giants being monsters at pass rushing and reaching the Q just as the pass is thrown. I don't remember Cutler complaining about ref'ing when being sacked 9 times last year. Also Trent Dilfer had a good point about Vick being a player with the most flags in his favor regarding late hits and went on to show Eagles defensive players being just as aggressive against opposing QB's. I don't know, I'll say that that one hit with the Giant using his helmet could have definitely been called.
