This game is weird, like Killer 7 with angels and swords. Plot is weird, characters are weird, graphics are weird, dialogue is weird. Distinguished weeaboo fellows will probably like it; Plebs will not.

One of the most hardcore guys at work is crucifying the living fuck out of this game. Horrible load screens, no checkpoint system, combat with 3 ineffective weapon choices, boss fights that last 30 minutes, horrible auto lock where the character attacks nothing, being stuck in walk mode and walking forward for minutes at a time, +1 hour of walking down linear paths.

The game autosaves constantly and there are save points pretty regularly.

I do agree on the 3 weapons. The ranged thing sucks balls.

Rez = visual style of certain levels
SMB = 2D platforming sections
Wipeout = visual style from the motorcycle section which isn't very good

The ranged weapon is actually really cool, just took some time to figure out. You can pull off stronger attacks with certain timed button presses (don't just mash, attack once and wait a second to unleash something else).

I got this today, played for probably an hour and a half. I'm up to chapter 3 so far, and while I still like the game, I think it's kinda boring. You can pretty much exhaust the depth of all three weapons in about 10 minutes, and there's hardly any enemy variety so far. Visually, the levels are fantastic, but they're actually pretty repetitive and extremely simplistic to play through.

But I still like it because the art design is pretty amazing, and the music seems good too. Hopefully it picks up a little later.

The platforming about 2/3 through the game is pretty tough at times. Not impossible, but well planned.
