Awesome, now the second question, what are the possible inputs for Dolphin and what's the best option for this game? It's been a long time since I put on my arrrhat.

I remember the Japanese version ran kinda shit on Dolphin.  The framerate was alright but there were lots of annoying bugs.  Also, the game looked really janky even when upscaled to 1080p.  There were lots of shimmering crap that rendering in high-res didn't fix.

whelp killed the first boss, went down surprisily easy but it introduced the last battle gimmick of the game

spoiler (click to show/hide)
the protagonist shulk has visions of the future,so sometimes he can see in advance the enemy preparing attacks, this give him time to set up a shield skill that protect you from attack or draw the attention of the monster elsewhere if it's going to kill his target

oh a nice feature is that this ability to see in the future also let him see what piece of loot he needs to turn in for future quests :lol
[close]

after that i got back to the starting town and explored a little because i'm missing only 1 item to complete the first page of that collector book,i found some low level named monsters which i swiftly murdered and some high level one which i didn't touch,it was nice exploring but swimming around also took forever,in the end i solved enough quest to bring the city level to 2 star so i guess maybe more quests unlocked?

i went on with the next zone and it's one of those big plains so mmorpg like and goddamn it's so boring walking around,i don't think i will ever understand the logic, they make the place huge and then they try to make it as less annoying as possible to traverse by putting mounts/warps/high speed features, anyway there was a really high level monster on the plain and i ended up attacking it while fighting some low level mobs... oops!

i got a lot of quests on the plain but for some weird reasons they all have a clock near them... does this mean the quest will be gone if i continue too much with the plot? EDIT: seems so blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhhhhhhhhhhh so annoying

I really like this feature, I can sell my junk without fear :lol

Second area/new party member spoilers:

I don't really like the new chick. Besides her annoying catchphrases (I need a shower! My gun's running hot!) she's not very good so far. She doesn't seem to be doing that much damage and she never heals me when I actually need it :\ I much preferred the other girl.

The clock ones just indicate which quests expire at the POINT OF NO RETURN which is like 50 hours into the game.

Also put speed gems on your shoes to move faster.  It caps out at 125% so it's not a huge increase but every bit helps.

Actually just to be safe because I don't want to fuck you guys up, double check on when the leg camp quests expire.  I generally did all (or 80%-90%) of the quests including all timed ones before moving on, but I think stuff won't expire for a while.

Just beat the first boss. I wasn't expecting to play this game to the end, but I'm enjoying the story so far so I think I'll stick with it for a while. I probably won't go out of my way to do sidequests though, they all seem like uninspired MMO quests that I've already done a million times in countless other games.

Better than nothing!

If you find my old review of the game, I only had a few sticking points really: 1) wish you could remove the speed gem cap so you could have 200%, 2) wish there was a bestiary, 3) maybe some field chests in addition to discovery xp to give more rewards for exploring everywhere (because there's actually lots of cool stuff to explore and find, but a lot of times you don't get more out of it than just world lore)

Like magus I'm impatient and don't like games where I spend hours upon hours of minutes just running; but everything else is so good I was ok with it.  I love big fields to explore, just don't like slow movement speed and lack of warp points.

i'm not sure there would be a point with a bestiary since a lot of enemies are the same,like... there is wood bunnies, little bunnies, cutie bunnies, wrench bunnies and also rock crabs, shell crabs, beach crabs...

more often than not i end up killing an enemy and realize the one i needed to kill was actualy a slighty different version

and you know i like all the loot the game gives you but remember that cool weapon i mentioned some posts ago? i have like now 3 copies of it,a bigger drop table would have been nice! i'm lugging so many copies of equipment which holds no purpouse other than selling it

the game is still throwing me a lot of tutorial screens even where i am now,so i really don't get people that say this ,not that i mind, tutorial screens rock

I guess because it's true? The tutorial feels unobtrusive and well implemented, and I have never felt like my party was gimped because they were holding back some obvious feature (FFXIII was a particular culprit for this)

i never felt like that in any rpg,i've heard people complaining about FFXIII that they can't make the party they want for the first 20 hours! but i've been playing this for 4 hours i think and i still can't make the party i want because i don't even have enough party member to make a choice, and this is not a problem....

or "i can't decide who's the party leader!" well here i can decide but why i would ever want to not use shulk? he's easily the most important member in the party, especialy when fighting robot enemies but once again i don't see a problem with that

No, but it's worth it for the free cash and XP. Cash doesn't come in a normal pace, and you need to buy those expensive Art Books. Just grab any quests, kill enemies, get levels, money.

What's the big issue? Unlike other RPGs where quests get in your way and result in nothing worthwhile at all. Xenoblade gets straight to the point. Another reason why this game is so good.

This really is the best JRPG in recent years.

It's not a big deal, I just grab the side quests from the NPCs and head down the story path. If I complete some quests along the way, cool, if not I don't go out of my way for them since they're all the same shit. I just don't get why everyone is hyping up the sidequests like they're some key part of the game.

There are some REAL sidequests that develop the NPCs and the worldlore, but they are like 10-20% of them; the rest are typical MMO quests for xp/loot.

dude, if magus can play it, everyone can

am i ending as the lowest common denominator in rpg player or what? :fbm

No, you're a great rpg player!  I just meant financially since you don't play anything that costs real money, but that's ok, we like you anyways despite your bootlegging-ness :)

The nest is up on the left side of the leg, through a cave to an opening.  There are lots of hidden areas like this in the game and the quests help you find them.

anyway i'm only missing 3 timed quests and 2 of them ask me to kill an enemy i have no idea where to find (bunnies on bionis leg) so to heck with it,i'm continuing the plot

anyway dunban looks useless,my reyn now fully decked in heavy armor not only looks totaly boss but he has like 350 defence, why i would ever want to take my chance and use someone who might dodge once or twice? i got to level 30 and i tried to kill some of the high level monsters near the starting area,i was able to kill a few of them but they didn't drop anything interessing but i got an achievement out of it,fighting high level monsters is a great way to raise relationship, your character keeps missing and getting depressed :lol,i've almost reached the max level of bromance between shulk and reyn

i solved one of the few more complicated quests and it landed me a nice weapon for reys (just to complement his new founding awesome defense) and it also gave me 3 stars for the colony quests and uh... next,i saw a level 32 monster once and i think it's time to going kick his ass

EDIT: i went to fight the level 32 named mob and found a giant turtle on the road,i thought it was a special mob but actualy it was a normal monster, surprisingly it dropped my first level 3 crystal... i wonder if the guys around colony 9 drop level 3 crystals too... the fight with the level 32 mob was pretty kickass, somehow i was able to pull off a 6-chain attack on him,it dealed something like 30,000 damage and it got me an achievement :lol,i've discovered that apparently monado buster attack counts as a wild card when it comes to chaining so if you run out of attack of one color, you can use buster and switch to another color, very usefull! the mob dropped another nice weapon for reys which i'm using only because it has a higher max damage than the previous one i got and also a blade for dumbass (pardon dunban)

other than that... i've finaly cleared every quest i accepted before the marsh, including those stupid bunnies on the bionic leg (turns out they were close to the entrance) which got me to colony 6 2-stars in the affinity chart... still i am missing that city building quest that demi mentioned... where do you get that anyway?

It's when you get the 4 trinket quest, Dickson leaves.

I just got RIKI!!!! who is awesome.

Also Dunban is pretty beast, upgrade him a bit. He has a lot of buff spells.

The enemies in the forest are -huge- and they're like "yeah, it's Level 33. Go kill it, whatever"

I love this game.

How does chaining work, anyway?
