You guys don't get earthquakes much, do you?

Interesting how a 5.8 on the east coat gets tons of national news coverage. A 5.8 out here on the west coast would be given only a few minutes of time.

felt a few in my lifetime usually between 1 to 3 on the richter scale, but dc has never been hit with a 5.8.

yeah, I'm around half that height, standing by the window and it felt like it was tilting towards it.

The 2001 Nisqually quake out here was a 6.8. I was working in my university's chemistry lab stock room putting things away when the glass windows started rolling. Creepy stuff.

My roommate stayed in our dorm room playing Nettrek.

Well, to be fair. I don't know what part of Poland Borys is at. I think you're being too hard on him. I don't see why a foreigner should be expected know there's an actual Washington state and that then there's, the DC area.

That was interesting. Definitely the biggest I've felt, as I've lived in VA my whole life. People in my office were initially pretty confused but we figured it out by the end of the shaking and went outside to see what was up (and get out of the huge structure). I didn't see any damage, though one thing on my desk did fall over!
