For a rom dump service there's a lot of publishers who apparently think its not worth the 'effort'. Then again maybe its stranded on the JPN wii shop.

edit: I almost feel... empathy? for DragonQuesters. The wait for the next numbered offline DQ is going to be long and full of doubt.

That certainly puts to rest "online is just optional" thing.

Maybe it will force Japan to care a little bit more about online.This is a pretty big bet by Square,nice to see someone doing something "against the rules",for better or worse.
Maybe they are trying to transform DQ into Japan WoW.Fanbase is there,but will they bite?

FFXI was big succes for SE.

Then they screwed up with FFIX somehow (by being typically Japanese and basicly releasing the same game in HD, 10 years later) so now they need a replacement cash cow.

From what I've heard the whole game is still a grind fest like FFXI, which was one of the biggest flaws of FFXI.

me? to be fair i don't really care about it much,when they announced FF11,i simply ended up shrugging and played the next one instead

it does bother me a little though,dragon quest is a series whose whole appeal consist of being "classic" so turning into an mmorpg makes no sense,heck couldn't they have just made an original MMORPG at this point? it would be like if they turned etrian odyssey into a story-driven rpg... the appeal of etrian odyssey is being a wizardry clone so there would be no reason to do so

still i played a lot of monster hunter 3 and it was really really really good,like i have no reserve into calling it the best wii game i've played,so maybe this could turn fun too?
