Capcom's share price fell on Tuesday after it announced that the next version in the series, Monster Hunter 4, would be offered on Nintendo's 3DS handheld, which is not seen as a likely hit with hardcore gamers. No announcement has been made about offering the new game on the PS Vita.

"I don't know. You will have to ask Capcom," Hiroshi Kawano, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, told Reuters when asked about the game.

But Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, in a separate interview did not rule out the possibility the PS Vita might still grab its own Monster Hunter.

"Most large game publishers operate on a multiplatform basis," he told Reuters.

Bu, bu, bu, Nintendo has won the handheld wars. They have exclusive Monster Hunter now!

Some nintybots even argue that is too bad DS didn't have Monster Hunter because it would have been way more successful. That's exactly what the series needed: a sub N64 version.

Almost seven years, millions sold, and Capcom still uses the same PS2 assets and they aspire to keep doing for some years more. Actually, itīs quite impressive. Itīs too bad the core game is too awesome to let it drop, but it frustrates me like no other. So much potential untapped.

I think Ds could've handled an isometric type Monster Hunter game well.  Whether it would've appealed to anyone is another matter.

You know what bugs me? Those stupid HD collections. If you're going to say you remade a game for HD you better have remade it, not ported it.

Are you saying they need to throw out the source code they have and work from the ground up?  If anyone is interested in an hd collection at all I imagine 1080p 60 fps would be as much of a reasonable improvement one should expect.  MAYBE adding small game fixes here and there that wouldn't require generating new assets.

Yes, because everyone owns every game ever. I haven't played MGS: Peace Walker. Guess I have to be a fan already to play it.

The problem with anti-port/remake people is that they seem to be anti-gaming and I mean this in the nicest of terms. Gaming's history is already kinda lost. Until recently the only way for gaming's history to be revived was through emulation.

Oh, but no, we want new games.

Well, many of them are ps3 owners. You can't PLAY DMC on current consoles.

What if they were xbox fans last gen and didn't get to play them? What's wrong with letting people experience old and new games?

Did you complain when people wanted Lord of the Rings trilogy on blu ray? At least with LOTR, you have dvd players, which are UNIVERSAL. With a ps2 game, you have to have a ps2. Some people don't have their ps2's anymore and at least in the case of dvds, modern hardware UPSCALES. Hooking up a ps2 to your hdtv is BLARGH and this is coming from someone who is as far away as a graphic whore as possible.

I love memory cards simply because I love that each save has its own little icon. Loved them since the PS1-era (wish I still had my Grey Fox save from MGS1 :'().
