I remember Christmas 2000, getting Grandia 2, Skies of Arcadia, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Jet Grind Radio and Shenmue... while my brother got Crazy Taxi, Sonic Adventure, Sega Bass Fishing and House of the Dead 2... best Christmas ever!!

I had the option of borrowing one of the two with a friend's Dreamcast. I preferred Grandia 2's cover so I went with that.

I played Skies of Arcadia years later on my Gamecube.

i played skies of arcadia on my gamecube and all i remember is that it had the worst encounter rate ever... and those airship battle lasted like forever!

... i still did finish it so i guess it wasn't as bad as i remember

the encounter rate was brutal but 9/10 times you could just fly above the clouds and get *no battles* and when you couldn't, well, the game was full of low-cost hit-everything skills that could easily finish a fight in one turn

like the aforementioned lambda burst, which scientists have confirmed is better than magoose AND positive touch

being wrong 99% of the time means that you're right ONE PERCENT OF THE TIME congrats magoose

it took like 15 hours before you could get above the clouds and that didn't change the fact that 1) that's a shitty solution cuz u can't see the world map anymore 2)you can't get around the dungeon battles and they're ALL THE SAME

lamda burst + regular attacks for everyone else

then its vyse's one special + regular attacks for everyone else on boss fights

and dicking around til you can use your ONE special move over and over during airship fights

and in between battles why don't you enjoy this story where we packed in every anime cliche ever isnt that fun
