look how run down those buildings are. almost reminds me of kowloon. wonder what the crime rate is like there.

Yeah it looks like a very poor mans Kowloon. Do you notice the lack of any shops and or advertising?

There probably is no crime at all, if you're meaning muggings/stealing etc. Since no one has anything to steal. It was the same behind the Iron Curtain.

In Pyongyang crime would probably be low yeah, since the city is basically invite-only

Not any kind of riff-raff is allowed to live in the capital, your family are granted permission to move in if your contributions to the party/state are deemed significant enough

Wow really? It's not at all what I imagine or was told Kowloon was like in the slum-days. Poverty stricken, yes. But the economic and political climate is completely different as was/is everyday life and outlook on raising standards of living. Even the architecture and city planning is very different...

It resembles some areas of mainland China more to me. And even then, not so much the modern day China.
