The problem I see is that they are trying to make it look all big budget and shit like a feature film and you know after the pilot its not going to be that way.

It's got a bigger budget per episode than fringe which I think has some phenomenal production values. Big budget sci-fi drama's are a dime a dozen nowadays so let's pray this is a good one that stays around.

Quote from: Wikipedia Synopsis
The show begins in the year 2149, a time when all life on planet Earth is threatened with extinction (suggested in trailers to be due to dwindling worldwide air quality and overpopulation). In an effort to save the human race, scientists develop a time machine allowing people to travel 85 million years back in time to the middle of the Cretaceous period of prehistoric Earth. The Shannon family (father Jim, his wife Elisabeth, and their three children Josh, Maddy and Zoe) join the tenth pilgrimage of settlers to Terra Nova, the first human colony on the other side of the temporal doorway. However, they are unaware that the colony is in the middle of a group of carnivorous dinosaurs.[4]

Wow!

This sounds terrible!

Who do you think invented Dinosaurs and all known life in the universe? Of course there is only one answer, Walter Bishop did!

The most interesting part was the shortest and worst written part.

Less family interaction, more dinos and mystery and Lang.

and maybe I missed this but how do they communicate with the future?  Lang said he hadn't told them about the Sixers until he finds out who sent them.  But I thought they couldn't send anything back?  And why the hell don't they send some more advanced technology.  And I'm guessing communism ended up working in 2149.  But I wonder if the janitors have just as nice of a house as the doctor and the cop.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
Also I'm betting Taylor's son found a way to effect the future or cross the timestreams or whatever but he knew his dad was a power hungry A-hole so he bailed out into the forest.

And the coolest part of last night was "Most people know I was the first man on the other side.  What most people don't know is that the ones who followed me didn't show up immediately.  What was a blink of an eye to them was 188 days for me"  Whoa.  Bad fucking ass

You're right, they never did explain that part. In thinking on it, how do the people in the future even know that the portal works at all? Hopefully this is something that eventually gets explained, because it's a really gaping plot hole right now.

And I agree about the family stuff, absolutely boring and cliche. The only other actual "bad" part was the slasher attack at the end, bad special effects and editing are bad.

Stephen Lang is straight-up awesome, he should definitely be in more movies/TV shows.

That seems fairly likely, given what we know. But I really hope they don't try to pull a twist somewhere that's basically "Oh Taylor was really the bad guy all along and the Sixers are actually the good guys!" because that would be way too obvious.

Yeah I really hope they're not that obvious and I doubt it will be.  If it is, I'm dropping the show for sure.  there's no way they'll be THAT cliche.  I figure they'll play it just like real life, people with different ideas on how shit should run.  Maybe the other Sixers are capitalists lulz

I was thinking that about the portal too.  How the hell did they ever know where it led or what time period they were in?  They really should have explained it.  The only reason I could see them not explaining it is because it ties into Taylor's son and I'm guessing that they actually can't communicate anymore without him.

Lost's first [two-part] episode actually was a lot better. Better characters, better writing, better direction, better actors, and more interesting as a whole.
