I refuse to post music that was hot when I was 16 cause I listened to music that was hot 20 years before my birth then.

We all did, you're not special.

Real talk.

Thats why I didnt ask for 'post music your pretentious teen ass listened too'.

I was 16 between 2001-2002. 2001-2002 was weird. I was discovering sounds and music I never thought I'd ever like. Thanks to the internet I got heavy into modern brit poprock and indie. I started to branch out from exclusively rap/rnb to a mixture of both along with rock.

I liked this song cuz of the Spider-man soundtrack. Kill me.

1998, I didn't listen to any of this, I hate R&B:

Quote
1. Too Close, Next
2. The Boy Is Mine, Brandy and Monica
3. You're Still the One, Shania Twain
4. Truly Madly Deeply, Savage Garden
5. How Do I Live, LeAnn Rimes
6. Together Again, Janet
7. All My Life, K-Ci and JoJo
8. Candle in the Wind, Elton John
9. Nice & Slow, Usher
10. I Don't Want to Wait, Paula Cole

Was listening to:

2001-2002

2001:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_Year-End_Hot_100_singles_of_2001

Quote
1    "Hanging by a Moment"    Lifehouse
2    "Fallin'"    Alicia Keys
3    "All for You"    Janet Jackson
4    "Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)"    Train
5    "I'm Real"    Jennifer Lopez and Ja Rule
6    "If You're Gone"    Matchbox Twenty
7    "Let Me Blow Ya Mind"    Eve and Gwen Stefani
8    "Thank You"    Dido
9    "Again"    Lenny Kravitz
10    "Independent Women"    Destiny's Child

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_Year-End_Hot_100_singles_of_2002

Quote
1    "How You Remind Me"    Nickelback
2    "Foolish"    Ashanti
3    "Hot in Herre"    Nelly
4    "Dilemma"    Nelly and Kelly Rowland
5    "Wherever You Will Go"    The Calling
6    "A Thousand Miles"    Vanessa Carlton
7    "In the End"    Linkin Park
8    "What's Luv?"    Fat Joe, Ashanti and Ja Rule
9    "U Got It Bad"    Usher
10    "Blurry"    Puddle of Mudd

A lot of crap.  In fact, at this time, I started listening to a lot of stuff from the 70s and 80s.  I really liked (and still like) 70s era rock and 80s synthpop because there was just nothing worth a shit at the time on the radio.  chronovore's top 10 was amazing by comparison.

1994

1. The Sign, Ace Of Base
2. I Swear, All-4-One
3. I'll Make Love to You, Boyz II Men
4. The Power of Love, Celine Dion
5. Hero, Mariah Carey
6. Stay (I Missed You) , Lisa Loeb and Nine Stories
7. Breathe Again, Toni Braxton
8. All for Love, Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart and Sting
9. All That She Wants, Ace Of Base
10. Don't Turn Around, Ace Of Base

I don't even know any of these songs.  What a pile of crap (sorry Ace of Base fans).

But further down the list are some I know:
