This game is much more difficult than Arkham Asylum. I recent completed AA on hard and did most of the challenge rooms, getting most of the challenge room medals and more, so I can directly compare AC to AA since AA is fresh on my mind. AA usually had gargoyles nearby if you needed a place to escape, not so much in AC. In AC, you may not have a place to escape to, and even if you do, the enemies have wizened up and will simply throw a grenade after you if you stay in one place.

You need to plan escape routes, escape plans, a opening, a plan to separate armed hostiles and more. Fucking fantastic gameplay.

Yeah, thanks for the heads-up about that.  If I'd known it was that easy and catch-free I'd have started using them a lot sooner.  The only other new games I want this year are BF3 and Skyrim, but I want those for PC, and K-Mart doesn't do PC games.  It's good through 12/3, I might just save it for closer to the holidays and see what other specials come up.

KMart -does- do PC, but mostly "exclusive" ones. My story carries Starcraft, The Witcher 2... New Vegas

It's very YMMV with a lot of things, unrelated to PC though.

Just got a "digital receipt" email, I guess it is for printing up the coupons if you lose them.  That's pretty neat, I don't know of any other store which does that with in-store purchases.

Yea, I just printed my coupon out because I was in a rush to get in to the office this morning. KMart is the best. You can also earn points on your account for any purchase in the store, which can be applied to your game/next purchase.

I don't like the Catwoman dlc. It's alright but it feels obtrusive, because once you've installed it, the game flips between Catwoman and Batman. If Batman's doing one thing, it flips to Catwoman doing something else. Plus, her move list is limited compared to Bats, and the end result just feels watered down. I don't think Catwoman really adds anything to the game but it's an alright bonus.

Don't.  The Catwoman "DLC" is clearly meant to be part of the game.  She doesn't have as many gadgets as Batman, but she doesn't feel watered-down and plays differently than he does.  There are story segments for her as well...would assume the character I am supposed to find means a boss fight as well.

Yes you can. You can also SCAN the riddler trophies you can't reach and the game will save their location to your map so you can come back later.  :o

I''m enjoying it alot so far mainly because of the mechanics but I didn't find the initial hook as compelling as I did in the original but I assume the story will pick up and draw me in. I'm not really a collect-a-thon person so all that kind of stuff in the game doesn't overly interest me.

The initial opening with the joker in the first and being wheeled into the asylum was brilliant. I found this one less so.

I don't find it as addictive as AA, but the core game is better, I think. The problem is that this one is more open, whereas AA is more tightly designed. I loved the game when I stay on the story path.

It's overwhelming how much stuff there is to do right out of the gate considering the game doesn't really run you through the "tutorial" unless you play the story.  And am I mistaken or can you not scan Riddler trophies until the game introduces the concept to you?  I still can't seem to get it to scan the fluorescent Riddler question marks in the city - I'm assuming that's because it hasn't "taught" me how to do it yet.  Pretty irritating.

The game does overwhelm you at first. Before I knew it I was running around the city trying to answer phones and I wasn't sure if it was main mission stuff or side mission stuff at the time.
